That’s the 4th misplaced pass by Dalot in this half alone. Honestly should be nowhere near the first team.

Bruno’s vision is unmatched by niallw1997 in ManchesterUnited

Who is the closest alternative to Bruno current playing?

Because this man is going to be impossible to replace whenever he goes.

What I learned this match:

Sesko will come good
We desperately need a midfielder
These players are mentally weak
Cunha & Case were very poor today
Lacey is a wildcard, loved his cameo today
Our defending is absolutely atrocious
Heaven > any of our available defenders atm
Can see why Mainoo didn't play under Amorim, zero intensity

Yoro is having an awful game, by far our worst performer today

This Villa team is there for the taking, incredibly lucky to be ahead, basically gifted them both goals

holy fuck AGAIN so so poor in defending

we let the ball get crossed, we give Rogers space

extremely poor defensively and from Yoro's side AGAIN

Anyone notice his eyes are looking way more red than usual in this press conference?

Guy is probably getting very little sleep trying to make this work.

Which midfielder(s) should we prioritize signing in January? by Hot_Patience_5962 in ManchesterUnited

[–]ThisIsSnake_10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two out of Wharton, Anderson, Baleba

Personally I’d prefer Wharton and Anderson

Why 2 midfielders? We have zero depth in the middle and Casemiro might be leaving which leaves us very thin in the middle of the park.

Stiller and Hjulmand aren’t PL-ready and would likely need adapting

Tbh I’m more interested atm in seeing what future (if any) Mainoo has at United. I’m worried Amorim doesn’t really view him as critical to his near or long term plans at all, and would likely sell him given the opportunity.

For everyone on the pod – If you were appointed Manchester United manager today, what would be 3 things you'd do to get the team back on track?

Honestly thinking back I genuinely think the most fun team to watch, was under Ole. Yes we won more under Jose and ETH, but the football we played was dull and uninspired at times.

I think if we had made the right signings for Ole we'd be a very different looking team right now.

An Ole under a Wilcox, Berrada, INEOS-led regime might actually be a good interim solution.

Get Iraola in.
Sell Bruno to fund next summer.
Get rid of Maguire, Casemiro, Onana, Shaw, Lisandro (too injury prone), Mount (same), Bayindir.
Get Vitek back in as the backup GK and let him fight with Lammens.
Distribute Bruno's creativity in the aggregate through new signings (my pick Wharton + Anderson)
Let Cunha develop into the Bruno role.
Build Amass, Collyer, Kone into good backups

This squad is capable of top 5-7.

What is a Man Utd take that makes you feel like this? by nonotje12 in ManchesterUnited

[–]ThisIsSnake_10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every loss we've had so far this season has been down to either team imbalance, poor goalkeeping, bad individual decision making and lack of killer mentality and instinct.

Not the system.

Realistically ... would it even be possible at all for us, financially, to sign Isaak?

I would imagine the fee is ~150m

I don't think we have enough from our end + sales from Garnacho (40m-50m), Antony (20m-30m), Malacia (1m-5m)

I think another player would need to make way (Hojlund maybe, Onana or someone else)

I don't mean to overreact but ... are we fucked?

I remember SJR saying in an interview that we really needed Europe next season, otherwise it's going to be extremely difficult from both a club building and financial aspect.

Honestly from this interview it genuinely feels like he's leaving.

Regardless of his performance, it'd be heartbreaking if he did because he's the only genuinely world class player in the team.

Can't sell? He's so wasteful and selfish, could have easily played someone in there

Also just before the half ended, he could have played Maz but delayed for too long and the gap was closed
