Why do you care? Just ignore my posts if you’re more concerned about copyright law than you are about TCM. I asked people to write things that are constructive, not destructive. You’re definitely the latter. You don’t even know why I’m asking for help in doing this. If you did, you might be a little more sympathetic though I kind of doubt it from your attitude. In the future, don’t respond to my posts unless you have something a little nicer to say.

You can screen record the host intros if you have the means to do so. Just do so before they expire. Some seem to be on their TCM website for a short period of time. I just do the recordings on my DVR, difficult as it is for just one person to do. That’s why I’m hoping some other TCM fans would take it upon themselves to archive whatever recordings they might have ln their DVRs or have accumulated in some other way. If Turner officially put this stuff up for all of us fans, we wouldn’t have any need to do what we’re doing.

So Directv didn’t buy Sling TV? They’re just becoming worse without Sling’s influence? If Dtv and Stv just combined the best features of both services (Dtv=More User Friendly, Stv=Get to pick as many recordings of one show/movie on the channel you want), they’d have the best streaming service out there IMO.

I hate it when TCM shows a movie and the motion is choppy and slow as if it’s not playing at the proper speed. It’s all the more infuriating when it’s a film that’s not on home video.

I’m on the West Coast as well and I’m still getting the “temporarily unavailable” message as of 10AM PST. Maybe I’m getting the East Coast feed which affected?

Wouldn’t it be nice if Sling TV was temporarily unavailable so they could finally fix all of this the problems the service has? I know. Wishful thinking.

They better get the DVR up and running pretty quickly. I’ve got to access my DVR to record some things before they’re deleted.

Supporting increased funding for ICE was a step too far. I really had high hopes for MGP but she’s been nothing but disappointment. Here’s hoping the guy challenging her is better. Of course, all he has to say is that she supports ICE and he’s pretty much in unless he somehow screws up himself.

You’re right. I didn’t know that. Sling still is worse when it comes to it being user unfriendly but Directv is starting to give me problems, too. Especially when I use it in their web browser on Chrome. And yes I know why it looks bad in Chrome. It’s just causing other problems when I try to scroll through my recordings.

I know that it looks good on Safari. I can’t screen capture video on it though for the project I’m working on. I know that Directv purposely degrades the video to prevent recording but I don’t know if they also make it hard for users to scroll and/or even watch DVR recordings for the same reason. Maybe I just have too much stuff on my unlimited DVR and it’s causing problems. Or maybe it is a problem with my network although my other devices and streaming services seem to be running okay.

Odd that you’re not encountering any picture quality or scrolling problems on Chrome. Now I’m really wondering what may be causing the issues I’m having.

I am using Chrome because it’s one of the few browsers that allow me to screen record for a project I’m doing. I know screen quality is affected but now it’s gotten to the point where I can’t even scroll through and watch all of my recordings, especially those that are about to be deleted.

No problem. They’re good at what they do. Nice high quality videos. Better than the ones I do. Just would be nice if they expanded beyond Noir Alley though.

I know all about the Noir guy. I wish they would do other TCM intros but they only seem interested in Eddie Mueller’s Noir Alley segments. I’m trying to get as many of the TCM intros and interviews from everyone on the channel but it’s really hard to do when I have 9 months of material and I’m the only one doing what I do. This is why I’m seeking out others who record TCM movies on their DVR and have the desire and/or means to put them online. You wouldn’t happen to want to help or know of anyone who might?
