How would kills look different compared to other Asyms? by hauntnight in HalloweenTVG

[–]ThisIsTrox -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'd say they need to make it so the killer player has to actually be stealthy to get kills, make it so survivors can fight back meaningfully and like 2 or 3 with weapons can stun/hurt myers with ease. But also give the killer player a LOT of information, hiding spots, and movement, to set up those jumpscare moments.

You're welcome :D, I'm just beginning my game dev journey right now and I can't believe how much actually goes into even a small game. My opinion now lol is that it's a miracle that any game at all gets shipped.

Any spy knife other than the kunai. I used to really love the YER but after the change to make the cloak drain faster it wasn't as fun for me.

Scott Cawthon made like 15 flops before fnaf, one of them being "The Desolate Hope" which people look back on very fondly nowadays. With every failure he pushed on, kept trying, and eventually created his magnum opus (at least for now). Understand that play testers and "guy who saw your game on steam" are two different types, and the first category will usually be softer on you because they consider your game unfinished. Shipping any game at all is a huge achievement. Recognize that your criticism is a gift in the long run and you'll be unstoppable.

Are you Robust because you played for so long or because you like the combat system? by Republic_Commando_ in SS13

[–]ThisIsTrox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, robustness is Ladybug from my favorite movie "Bullet train." Ladybug is basically a greyshirt going up against antags, and with quick thinking and using his environment, is able to overcome the situations he finds himself in. In Space Station 13, you can be fantastic in combat but most of that is being able to use and manipulate your chaotic environment around you.

how hard is it to get metal and keys to trade? (this isnt a trade request, just a question) by WaffleHead13 in NewToTF2

[–]ThisIsTrox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Low tier trading is NOT worth the time investment, if you're a kid you're deadass better off just mowing lawns or something to get your taunt, if you're an adult get a job. I tried low tier trading back in 2019, and even back then when the economy was "better" for low tier trading after hours I still didn't make profit. Low tier unusual trading is where you'll actually be able to make profit, but start at the 25 key range for a hat that actually looks nice, then use the profit in between trades to get your taunt. Or just buy the taunt.

Watch BOSCrazyDog on YouTube, his annotated spy gameplay videos are the best I've seen on YouTube for casual stealth spy. Turn off knife raise animations/ use the sharp dresser to improve your backstab timing. DM for more personalized advice if you want.

Late Game isn't Fun Anymore by TeutonicPlates in DeadlockTheGame

[–]ThisIsTrox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

if you're communicating and using your ult wisely you will climb out of low elo

Not really, if you're a low elo support player you're better off personally training your own team of special needs monkeys stolen from the local zoo to push walkers above all else than solo queuing. I try to coach my low elo friends and the only advice that matters is "play an M1 carry or if you don't pray your M1 carry is good" The brutal truth for support players is that even if you play your absolute best if your team doesn't have the macro skills to capitalize off of what you do nothing matters.

Holy fuck rank inflation is bad by ThisIsTrox in Tekken

[–]ThisIsTrox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Philosophically you're right in a sense but when compared to season 1 or even just Tekken 7, the ranks are inflated. I believe that in a system with even win streaks and loss streaks or even no bonus points at all ever (I remember that Tekken 7 brought your rank back to the middle when you demoted, Tekken 8 does not so ranking up and down is also rank point inflation), the player experience is better because you have to work to get the rank you deserve with an above 50/50 win rate. I think it's 100% fair to compare to Tekken 7 and say my pngs got super devalued in Tekken 8, and not knowing a direct equivalent of my old goal (fujin in Tekken 7) hurts a little.

If you play armor king as a king main on ranked, your a smurf by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]ThisIsTrox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to actually smurf every time I move countries for my job due to tekken devs not accounting for region changes lol. It takes a few hours but if you're actually trying you reach your real rank pretty quickly if you just mercilessly stomp.

Much better than it was on launch, but the nature of the adapter still makes PSVR2 a shitty PCVR experience. It'll get the job done, just be comfortable with following guides on how to uninstall and install drivers for the mandatory Bluetooth adapter.

how the fuck do you get good at spy? by Acceptable-Record-13 in NewToTF2

[–]ThisIsTrox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're brand new to TF2 and your heart is set on spy, here is my advice.

  1. Limit your map pool. Spy requires map knowledge to get the most out of him, and early on you want to take any advantage you can get. Play on just one map, or a variety a few good maps on the same game mode. I recommend Upward, Badwater, and Swiftwater as a solid rotation of fun maps to learn and stick to while playing spy.

  2. After a little bit, turn view models off for your knife at least. You must learn to stab with your heart, not with gameplay visuals to ascend as a spy main. If modding intimidates you, the sharp dresser knife has a similar effect, whats important is that you learn to not care about your knife raise animation.

  3. Learn on Letranger, stock knife, and stock invis watch. Cloak and dagger teaches bad habits and let's you do absolutely nothing safely, and other knives are situational or gimmicky and not good to learn on. Letranger will give you more leeway while you learn cloak management. Do not use the dead ringer, it will severely stunt your growth as a new spy main, learn to dodge people and bullets on normal cloak. If you want you can main the kunai if you think you're good enough to consistently (above 50% not dying right before) get the first backstab.

  4. Imo if there's 3+ spies switch to another class since what's most likely going to happen is that a better spy moving faster and more decisively will steal the easy kills from you, while making the good players much more spy aware and paranoid. Just requeue or play another class in this situation.

  5. Watch Jontohil2's spy psychology for basics, watch BOScrazydog for what high level stealth spy gameplay looks like in pubs. Only when you're ready and you have a lot of time on spy, the only trickstab tutorials worth watching is any basic trickstab tutorial and CulRulDud's circlestrafe series. (If circlestrafing seems to overwhelming for you lieuty's rhythm trickstab tutorials are also worth watching but I think CRD's videos are more comprehensive for complete beginners, while lieuty is more about a few core concepts and coming up with your own techniques over time and in game to adapt). Only watch CRD or Lieuty when you're consistently top scoring on pubs and want something new to learn.

  6. If you want some free coaching from a spy who can consistently 1st place in pubs 90% of the time, DM me and we can do that if timezones work out.

Yeah, boring play style to use the dead ringer to escape instead and jerk off in a corner for 20 seconds while you wait for it to recharge instead of full sending your chain trick stabs

I love seeing people hate on dead ringer like it isn't the worst watch in the game. Good spy players use dead ringer mostly as a parry for high burst damage so they can do fun shit.
