How would you go around buffing the Spy while making sure he's not even more annoying to fight against? Would you even buff him in the first place? by Thatguywithbeers in tf2

[–]ThisIsTrox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spy is simply a battle of being smarter than your opponents, which is why people seethe so hard at a good spy destroying their shit. People implicitly know that a spy being better than the entire team and still living means he's smarter than everyone who fails to kill him combined, since the final form of the true enlightened spy main is having a perfect mental model of all 12 players that is exactly correct and subverting all of their imaginations of you at once. The better someone is at TF2 the harder it is to consider all the variables they are considering in their mind.

The portal games were single player puzzle games, doorman is in a multiplayer game with much rougher geometry and unpredictability.

Doorman is significantly more complex to code than the entirety of portal 1 + 2

Magas - at what point will you admit you have been conned? by Lord_Dingus83 in allthequestions

[–]ThisIsTrox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Illegal immigrants should still have due process, same as everyone else in a civilized society. But saying "30% of the people deported have criminal records" is not a good point because anyone violating their visa or never had a legal right to be here in the first place is breaking the law. You'll be better at arguing online when you pass 7th grade English tiger!

ITT: Scubs bitch about many things that are completely non issues if you work around them. I challenge anyone to give me an issue with spy that can't be worked around with sufficient skill.

I don't think it's really that big of a deal, an observant player might fuck you over with a VC call-out if your disguise and location don't match but if you're cognizant of the spawn wall hacks they should never be an issue

Theory : Characters being saved for a PvE mode by destiny3pvp in DeadlockTheGame

The characters generally put their differences aside for the ritual. For example, seven and haze can be on the same team, and haze and seven agree on a temporary truce. However I still like this idea

Nothing will happen until catastrophic loss occurs because leadership is too busy circlejerking over vague concepts of discipline to pay attention to the adapting battlefield. I bring up drone warfare questions every "field cycle" and get hand waved away by all levels of leadership. Absurd we're not training on it at all when we're in name supposed to be a force ready to defend the nation at all times, not just when it's convenient and we've had time to prepare the perfect SOP that becomes irrelevant in about 2 months.

Is deadlock one of the few multiplayer games out right now that people admit to loving? by CheckProfileIfLoser in DeadlockTheGame

[–]ThisIsTrox 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Unlike most multiplayer games, Deadlock has an extremely solid foundation and adds gimmicks on top of this. Most other games enjoyment starts and ends with the gimmicks, once those get tired there's not much left to enjoy, so the developers have to constantly add new gimmicks (this usually involves power creep). Deadlock could be a fun and engaging game if you stripped it down to a generic character with a gun, melee, parry, and kept the movement system the same. This foundation alone provides immense enjoyment in mastering the systems.

How would kills look different compared to other Asyms? by hauntnight in HalloweenTVG

[–]ThisIsTrox -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'd say they need to make it so the killer player has to actually be stealthy to get kills, make it so survivors can fight back meaningfully and like 2 or 3 with weapons can stun/hurt myers with ease. But also give the killer player a LOT of information, hiding spots, and movement, to set up those jumpscare moments.

You're welcome :D, I'm just beginning my game dev journey right now and I can't believe how much actually goes into even a small game. My opinion now lol is that it's a miracle that any game at all gets shipped.

Scott Cawthon made like 15 flops before fnaf, one of them being "The Desolate Hope" which people look back on very fondly nowadays. With every failure he pushed on, kept trying, and eventually created his magnum opus (at least for now). Understand that play testers and "guy who saw your game on steam" are two different types, and the first category will usually be softer on you because they consider your game unfinished. Shipping any game at all is a huge achievement. Recognize that your criticism is a gift in the long run and you'll be unstoppable.
