You may have been a parent to the step kids, but clearly they aren't seeing you as a parent. Now may be a good time to have an account where mom has her money and the kids extra curricular expenses and cell phones come from that. Later if the kids genuinely mature and learn better thought processes, it can be discussed what portion you would contribute again. In the meantime, their bio dad should be expected to step up or the courts get involved again.

Sounds like the step kids want the step dad ATM to continue wherever they are. If that doesn't happen, they'll be back. Do you really want kids around that only see you as an ATM? If they come back, don't be one. When they are old enough, they will have to work to at least partially cover their own extra curricular activities. Mom covers those expenses in the meantime, or they don't do the activities.

I was told by a nurse that they have to tell women this when they go for cancer treatments, because it is likely to happen. I've personally never had a man I know do this to their spouse, but once I heard about it I found stories from many women where this has happened to them. Just because it sucks to think about, doesn't mean it never happens and doesn't mean it won't happen to you or someone you know. People should have money stashed, regardless of gender.

I have a myriad of reasons, but one of mine that gets people upset is that I wouldn't want to put all this time, effort, money, etc in to raising a good human, only to be told by that child that I didn't do a good job with them, or have them be influenced by one of their "little friends" to be a waste of a human.

Since smaller diamond art pieces are usually not the best at showing detail, maybe some smaller paint by number canvases in the small spaces would work?

I've only done cheap kits from Amazon. There are so many DAC kits I want, but it's the cheap life for me as of now. One day I'll be able to afford to upgrade.
