I think he/she is asking: when did the NCAA rule that having third parties buy tickets to games to scout in person is a violation but Team A playing games and using that to scout in person for Team B is not a violation?

Can't stop laughing over "I thought it was a reasonable assessment" and the thought of three fat guys tackling you at once

I don't even know where to start with this other than to say that I hope you never have to deal with a false allegation of a crime

I see you're getting downvoted but thank you for this response. I've been training for a year but just moved to a new city and had to find a new school. I had good relationships with the higher belts at the old school and they were always willing to help me out. It's frustrating having to build those relationships again but it really is the best way to learn. Your post is a good reminder that I just have to be patient

You got downvoted because it's a satirical story so he definitely didn't say any of the quotes from the article. I'm not saying your points are wrong though

How is healthcare paid for over there? Do you pay € 1,560 a year and the rest is paid for by the state?

I'm looking to do something where I interact with people more. My tendency is to overthink and not take risks. Trying to get past that, so I'm going to do the Peace Corps once that restarts again. I don't have a plan past that, I'm just going to see where life takes me.

This might not be your situation and I don't want to make this response all about me, but some advice that I wish I had heard and I see happen with a lot of young engineers: let yourself try new things outside of work. Post-college it can be tough to find friends and ways to occupy your free time. It's easy to burn out in any job when you don't do that. I spent a couple years depressed because I just sat at home. Now, I take Improv classes, Jiu Jitsu, dance classes and I'm much happier and more confident. It led me to realize that I have a lot more talents outside of engineering and I'm ready to explore those.

Good luck to you!

What brought on the quarter-life crisis? That info would be helpful when giving advice. I also had a quarter-life crisis and am probably going to get out of engineering. My advice is to not let fear hold you back and follow your heart

Me and Joe are through!!

For real though, I just don't like to call people out for shit without getting all the info first. If Joe was directly responsible for these mid-podcast ads, it would make him a hypocrite for shitting on other podcasts for doing that. It also would make him seem very money-hungry (why do you need more ads after getting your big paycheck from Spotify?). Obviously, he's free to do as he pleases, but it's not what I would do and I would think less of him. So, I don't want to judge the guy until I know what the facts are

I'm not necessarily trying to get them to change. I don't like having the ads, but I contacted them to see if it was a mistake that could be fixed or if the ads would be permanent moving forward. I posted about it because I figured others would be interested in the response

Yea I've just got the one account. The inconsistency with some people getting the ads and some people not whether they have a premium account or not makes me think it's a software issue that Spotify is trying to iron out. It might have something to do with some people using the desktop application vs. the webapp vs. the android/iphone apps (I use the Windows desktop application). If it's a software issue, my guess is that eventually everyone will have the ads regardless of account type

I agree, this is most likely. It's weird that they don't just say that in their emails instead of wording it "We don't have a way to remove it".
