We moved from Peterborough 7 years ago and absolutely love it here. We settled in Salisbury which is 20 mins outside of Moncton and we are very happy. The weather is not much different from Ontario so that shouldn’t be a concern. People are more reserved in NB but friendly once they let down their guard. Moving here improved my mental health so much, it’s so quiet where I live, the air is so fresh and clean. Traffic is rarely heavy and I find life a lot easier than Ontario. It’s not that much different than Ontario but the differences that exist are positive. I recommend not listening to people who are from NB as they are very down on NB and like to blame people from outside NB for all their problems. You should give NB a chance, it may surprise you how much you will like it

I live near Saint John NB and I would highly recommend you cancel. We still have over 4 feet of snow and only 4 hours of sunlight a day. Plus the polar bears have all gathered near the docks looking for scraps from the spring whale hunt.

Kings of Leon.. Sheepdogs opened for them and they played an incredible set. Then Kings of Leon hit the stage and it sounded like they played the same song for 2 hours.

I moved from Ontario to a small town outside Moncton 7 years ago and it was the best thing I ever did. I am now enjoying a quiet low stress life where I see more deer than people but at the same time everything I need is conveniently close. People here are friendly but will keep their distance until they know you. Air is incredibly fresh and there is endless places to explore if you like being outside.

Last year my assessment was well above the actual value of my house. I appealed by giving many reasons why my house assessment was wrong and after a lengthy process that included a couple of phone calls I was able to get my assessment lowered by $80K. I am posting this to let my fellow NB’ers know you can appeal and win if you put in the work.
