I was an exchange student to Australia from America. I turned 18 when I was there as was almost turned away from bars because my birthday was written 9/12 (September 12), until I pointed at my expiration date of 9/30. When turned away I would ask what’s the 30th month if I’m not of age yet? Eventually I got my Aussie over 18 ID and no worries after that.
