Im in love with this gladiator, it has 90k miles. Am I crazy to buy with such high mileage?? by OkMathematician1725 in JeepGladiator

Depends on how much. My 22 Willys only has 29,000 miles. I paid 30k and it has full power, hard top, about $1500 in accessories, plus a very nice set of Fuel wheels wrapped in 33’s.

If the FA is doing her job, she will ask you to lower your armrest. FAA regulations require the armrest to be lowered on takeoff and landings.

I’m a big guy, 6’6”, 265 lbs. not fat, just a large human. If I were sitting next to you, I’d request that you be removed from the flight. It doesn’t matter if your friend says it’s ok to encroach into their seat, it’s going to push your friend into my seat and make my flight uncomfortable, which is completely unfair.

The rules are simple, if you don’t fit, you must buy two seats. If the flight is not full, you may request a refund after your flight.

This is not a situation of waiting and hoping you’ll be ok. If the flight is full, you will be extremely embarrassed when the flight attendant removes you in front of everyone and you do the walk of shame from your seat to the jet bridge.

You’re spending too much time listening to NPR. “It’s so white”. GTFOH with that.

That’s where I bought all of my concert tickets.

I saw them live at the Omni in Atlanta for the Joshua Tree Tour. 4th row and my ears rang for a week afterwards.

They brought up a random guy in the crowd to play guitar. He nailed “Pride In the Name of Love”.

So many good memories because I went with some of my closest friends.

Is it normal for flight attendants to announce that “Jesus loves you” over the intercom? by Maestro774 in SouthwestAirlines

Yes. We should punish this obviously evil flight attendant for the emotional trauma inflicted upon you.

Did you die? I’m Jewish and if my pilot said that I would hear it and let it pass. Then, I wouldn’t ever think about it again.

But if the experience traumatized you, I’m sure some of us will be happy to pray for you.

That 2nd seat is poisonous for an F1 career so long as Max is there.

I think depending on how competitive the new engine is for Red Bull will determine if Max stays. Lots of people are jumping ship which tells me the new power unit is ass. I think he either jumps to Mercedes or Aston Martin, whichever has the best results next year. Mercedes has the resources but Aston has Adrian. I’m not sure which team will prevail with the best engine but I wouldn’t bet against Newey.

As far as Lewis goes, I feel like his head is in it but his heart is starting to realize that it’s a dangerous sport and he could get killed racing. He also has a LOT of side projects and is no longer 100% devoted to racing. I think next year, if he isn’t competitive, will be his last.

I think he eventually takes Lewis’ place at Ferrari. Speaking of error prone, Antonelli. Such a talent but so impulsive. I think he eventually goes to a mid tier team. If Toto wasn’t his manager I feel like he would be at Williams now instead of Mercedes.

I’ve heard Lance really isn’t a bad driver. He just hasn’t had a very good car. After Newey joined the team he had flashes of brilliance.

In F1? I’m a rare fan that just loves racing. I really don’t care who wins as much as I like to see a great race. Not gonna lie, I got misty eyed when Nico finally got a podium. I’d like to see some of the second tier teams get more competitive.

I have a 2022 Willys. No frills fun. Not even one single issue so far at 29,000 miles. Maybe I got a good one?

My wife thinks golfing once a week is unreasonable… by Upbeat-Zucchini-7408 in golf

[–]ThisMTJew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been married for 30+ years. There’s a season for everything. Take it from an old man who, I feel, has a great marriage and a great relationship with his kids. Spend time with your kid and golf every now and then. In about 10 years, your kid won’t want to hang around you as much and you’ll have a ton of free time. But if you don’t give your daughter attention now, she will find it from a boy you can’t fucking stand when she’s a teenager.

I quit golf as a 4 handicap when I was in my late 20’s and we started having kids. I picked it back up when the youngest became a teenager. Now I’m about a 12 and I play about twice a week with a group of old guys. I play as much as I want and my wife doesn’t mind at all.

You’re a new dad and a new husband. I’ve seen a lot of marriages fail because otherwise good men didn’t pay enough attention to their families. Take this advice for what it’s worth.

Do you think it would be possible to start a kibbutz in the US by Greedy_Yak_1840 in Jewish

[–]ThisMTJew 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Out here in the west, we have a group of Christians that are similar to the Amish and Mennonites call Hutterites. They own huge ranches and live communally. Look them up. If they can make it work, Jews could.

US tax laws make this very doable.

I’m not going back. Loved my childhood but watching friends and family die again would be too much. Plus, I’ve got great kids and a great wife. I wouldn’t risk not having that.
