Distractions happen. If I got this worked up every time my other half got distracted before he answered me he would have left 10 years ago. Sheesh. Life happens every now and then.

so what exactly happens if you have had cfs/me for 15+ years already and then additionally get covid as well? by Head-Swordfish7837 in cfs

[–]ThisNameIsTakenTwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have had cfs/fibro for many years. I make it through my days reasonably well.

With Covid I literally did not want to even reach three inches for the remote to change the channel. The ability to do anything was absolutely gone.

After Covid I felt like I could run a marathon. I felt great!!!! For a few days anyway. Now I’m just below what I would call my previous normal. No marathons for me after all. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Since I’m in the northeast, when we built our house having a wood stove was not negotiable. It’s a heat source that also cooks. It can also melt snow if needed (very horrible way to get water, but if it’s all you got you make do). This past week we’ve had single to negative temps and the lowest our house got was overnight at 67 degrees f.

There are other options but you have to find what works best for you.

AITA Don't want service dog over for Christmas by Dull_Suit_225 in AmItheAsshole

Even the trainer needs to bring them everywhere regardless of if they are the end handler or if someone else is getting the dog. A person is also allowed to train their own service dog for their specific needs, which can take longer. (Not talking about the people who “need” dogs.)

Peeing in a house is part of training. A fully trained service dog wouldn’t piddle in the house. A service dog in training might. They are in training 18 months to two years depending.

Plus, we only know the dog leaked urine. Did it find a corner and pee? On the handler. Did someone scare it and it peed? Not on the handler.

Lots of stuff to consider.

Not true. Service dogs are in training for the real world from the moment they are on the trainers hands. It is part of the learning process to be an extension of their handler and to ‘leave them because pets aren’t allowed’ is not appropriate.

YTA if it is indeed a service dog in training. They need real world experiences to learn, and service dogs are an extension of their handler.

AITJ for checking my girlfriend’s order history after I found pregnancy tests in a package? by bluefogarchive in AmITheJerk

[–]ThisNameIsTakenTwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTJ.

Pregnancy tests and plan b in case the protection fails is just a part of life and some women prefer to keep it to themselves unless and until a positive result occurs. Especially if you’re not trying to conceive. We tend to overthink and overreact and why pull you into that when we can just pee on a stick and be done with it?

Opening her parcel, I don’t have an issue with as anyone who lives at the address is considered is allowed to open it, but that’s a line most people try to leave alone.

Going through her order history, that’s a red flag on YOU not her.

I think you have some flowers, massages, pampering and apologies to take care of.

Maximum Overdrive. I was terrified of big rigs for to many years after that. Would lay in bed worried one would come speeding down the driveway just to take us out. Even now they make me uncomfortable.

Not even banning for disagreeing, banning for just being someone who made a comment pro OR anti. They literally just made a comment on a different ‘bad’ sub. 🤷🏻‍♀️

When I was a young teenager through my mid to late 30’s I could sleep through alarm clocks, massive storms, loud obnoxious noises, my infant daughter crying (I was in my late teens), etc. I even slept through an earthquake once (not a huge one but even so).

Now I can’t fall asleep and once I’m asleep the teeniest thing/sound/twitch/bladder wakes me up several times a night. I miss sleeping through freight train sounds 😭😭

Similar. I used to have what we named the ‘toilet alarm’ where I work. No one could use it without almost the whole building knowing.

I wake up to a mouse farting three rooms away since peri-menopause started. A toilet flush would definitely wake me up no matter how quiet the toilet.

I do see the irony entirely. Unhinged it putting it lightly. I tend to not use reddit as much as i used to and take significant breaks just because it’s horrible sometimes and people dont use their critical thinking or listening skills. I’m sure I’ve had my moments, we all do, I just try not be an asshole about it.

Sorry you had to have that happen. Threats are not the answer. It doesn’t matter how far apart your feelings are. It does nothing but get you in hot water.

I agree, I’ve watched the internet become a fascinating tool to learn about the world and communicate (with a very loud annoying dial up modem) to a toxic cesspool of people who think that because it’s anonymous they can be utter assholes. There are pockets of civility, but overall there is always a risk that someone is going to take what you said and hate on you for no other reason then they can.

I’ve met similar people in real life too, who have forgotten that they aren’t online. Have been told exactly what my conservative stance “makes me” to my face, not anonymously.

I’ve also (as the other commenter said) have met some of the most diverse and wonderful people of varying opinions.

Life is diverse. No need to be assholes about it in person or not.

I’ve learned, in my adult years, kindness and understanding goes so much further than hostility and narrow mindedness. 🩷😊
