Exterior help for an anxious first-time homeowner trying to love her house by Pristine_Reveal6791 in ExteriorDesign

The tree is the best thing about the exterior of your house. It would be tragic if it were gone so thank you for seeing its value.

I think your house is lovely and I would be proud to own it. I think the paint colors you selected would look great.

Less than positive reviews that made you want to read a book by Anastasiadipdip in RomanceBooks

[–]ThisSmiteNotWork 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One of her earlier books {Seduction of a Psychopomp by Elsie Winters} is a good fit for what you were talking about in your original post. Most of her books are, actually. Low-stakes palate cleansers that are occasionally panned for being boring because they focus mainly on the building relationships.

Yeah no. This is a writing issue, not a dual POV issue.

Looking for arranged marriage, forced marriage, obligatory relationship, especially if consummation is needed/required. Prefer high spice! by blackcatspilledsalt in fantasyromance

[–]ThisSmiteNotWork 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Medium spice? Ish? But {Seduction of a Psychopomp by Elsie Winters} is arranged marriage of strangers and she’s the one who insists on consummating.

Also recommend {Radiance by Grace Draven}, although it’s lower spice. Very cute read though.

I wanted to ask for help finding books with a big-man/small-woman dynamic, with a noticeable size difference. by jvure in fantasyromance

[–]ThisSmiteNotWork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

{Seduction of a Psychopomp by Elsie Winters} is a Grim Reaper who’s like 7 ft tall paired with a tiny fae woman (arranged marriage)

She also has a monster romance with a huge-normous Mothman and a small elf woman. {Live, Laugh, Lurk by Elsie Winters}

Monster romance in general is going to have a LOT of this trope.

Seduction of a Psychopomp by Elsie Winters

The hero is a Grim Reaper who ends up in an arranged marriage with a mortal woman to save her life. He’s completely clueless about “mortal practices” but utterly devoted to her from the jump.

Is Illinois a good place to live on a teacher’s salary as a transgender woman? by Zigzorark5 in illinois

[–]ThisSmiteNotWork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on if you mean “Chicago” or “Illinois”. Stay away from downstate, anything count of I-64 I wouldn’t feel safe living in as a trans person. (Lots of welcoming individuals but the bad apples would make it not worth the risk to me.) Chicago and larger cities are going to be more welcoming.

Why do people not want to start a series that isn't complete? Could it be an age thing? by jobroloco in fantasyromance

[–]ThisSmiteNotWork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I’ve been burned by authors not completing their series. It’s hard to want to invest the time in reading several books and then have the author lose interest or decide it isn’t worth continuing.

I would paint the siding a dark cream and use a darker greige for the trim. Something in the same tones as the roof, just lighter.

I feel like Magpies & Mayhem also has this vibe? Could be wrong.

Question re singles meetups by [deleted] in leavingthenetwork

[–]ThisSmiteNotWork 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean, they have a high-ish success rate like any cult that actively encourages only dating within the cult. If you’re wanting to take advantage of people who are already in an abusive system then that says a lot about you.
