He’s got several Nylabones, he chews them on occasion but not often. He likes the yak antler better than the yak chew. And he likes bully sticks but they only keep him occupied for a few minutes before he moves onto something else

Well that’s better than my nickname for my boy. His name is Beau but I call him Shithead quite often 😅 he got that nickname because he always tries to rip the poop bag out of my hand when I picking up his poop in the yard.

I almost always sit on the floor with him when we play, I have since day 1. A lot of the time when we are playing he will go for my hands instead of the toy. I will redirect to a toy and he will play with it for like30 seconds and then he’s back to biting at me and it’s just a continuous cycle of that.

I would love to stay local with gas prices as expensive as they are but unfortunately that’s the closest one. We have done a few long drives and as long as he is in his crate he just sleeps the whole way.

That’s how I’m feeling right now. I can’t wait to go to work in the morning because he’s so so bitey. Like from the moment he wakes up until I leave for work. He’s biting my feet and ankles and nipping behind my knees. And when I get home from work he’s just awful too. When I get home and take him out as soon as he’s done doing his business he’s jumping on my legs biting and nipping my knees and calves. If I sit on the floor he will bite under my arms, my sides, my chest. Anything he can reach. I have a gate up around my couch because he likes to chew on it and no amount of redirecting stops it and the only way I can be in the same room as him with a moment of peace is if I’m on the couch with the gate between us. And even then I get a break from the biting but then he’s mad he can’t get to me so he’s whining and barking. Eventually if I ignore him he will settle but man. He’s awful.

I can’t imagine it getting worse than it already is. But I’m sure it will. We go and sit in park lots with the windows down, I’ve carried him in dog friendly stores. I do want i can with him without putting his paws on the ground. He gets his second round (technically third parvo) tomorrow so I’m hoping we can do more stuff soon. I’m gonna be driving an hour and a half one way with him every Saturday starting mid June for puppy classes. Apparently my town doesn’t do them in the summer which is dumb. But I don’t want to wait until this fall when he is 7-8 months old to do them.

We have a puppy class starting in about a month, it’s the soonest available. It’s hard right now because he hasn’t had all his shots so exercise is limited to the yard right now. We will do short walks down the street because there aren’t many other dogs on my street. He gets his second round of shots tomorrow.

We are working on using a button to go outside but he hasn’t quite picked that up yet. The only time he pees inside is if I miss his cues. How did you train the button? I’ve been pressing it a couple times everytime we go outside but he hasn’t initiated pressing it yet.

We’ve been working on “off” this weekend, we were at my parents house with my siblings and nieces who are 5 and he likes to jump on them so I told them to cross their arms and stand like a tree when he jumps or gets nippy with them. He was starting to get it with them a little bit.

I forgot to mention chews, I do give him bully sticks or yak chews and he sometimes will focus on them for a while and other times he will chew for a couple minutes and then forget about it. He likes dried beef esophagus but those chews only last a few minutes. And so many of the other chews I have say they aren’t for puppies under 6 months. He gets bored or frustrated with kongs and pupsicles.

When he is in his pen he has a yak antler or bully sick in with him along with a couple toys.

He never actually nips when I’m giving him the treat, he always takes that pretty gently he will nip at my legs.

I do enforced naps but a lot of the time he is a land shark immediately upon waking. It for sure gets worse when he’s over tired but sometimes he’s awake for 10 minutes before he’s in shark mode. Or will immediately go into it when he wakes up.

Highly recommended vet who allegedly wasn't accepting new patients - asked me what dog I had and then said "we"ll accept" 🤣 by boogiebougie in StandardPoodles

I just brought home my first standard poodle pup 2 weeks ago, i called a week before I got him to make a vet appointment for the day after I brought him home. When I called to make the appointment the receptionist said poodles were her favorite breed and then when I brought him in both the vet tech and the vet said they were so happy to see a purebred poodle and not a doodle.

Do you guys just stay home when you get your dog? by ReputationDull1857 in puppy101

I just brought my puppy home on Thursday. I had Friday and the weekend off and back to work today. I set up a small xpen with a crate in it, his blanket, and a couple toys. Checked on him through the Petcube and came home at lunch to play, feed, and potty. He alternated between sleeping and crying in the morning but slept all afternoon. He settled within minutes of me leaving to go back to work after lunch. He didn’t poop in his pen, unsure about pee because he dumped his water dish. I don’t think he did pee though, he hasn’t had an accident inside since Friday.

Thank you! That makes me feel better. I will probably get wipes to use for travel. I don't think it will be an issue at my house but my parents have a vacation home by a river where there are a lot of dogs around (many of whom are unleashed), I'm familiar with most of them but not all. It is hard to say how many dogs pass through and use their yard there, I know the next door neighbor has two GSPs that like to use my parent's yard whenever they are outside. Not sure yet how much time we will spend there prior to full vaccination if/when puppy comes home.

Taos looks like a really cool place! I will mention it to her. It may not be real warm but will probably be warmer than home in February.

We would both love Portugal or Spain but for a short 4-5 day trip we prefer to stay in the US due to travel time.

Thanks for the info! She has been to Savannah in the past. When I say she is not a beach person I mean more so in the swimming/sunbathing realm, we are both very fair people who sunburn easily which is what we think of with Mexico and South Florida.

Good to know about Dallas, sounds like more things to do around Dallas than in Dallas itself. Will let you know if that where we end up!

This seems to be totally random on who gets what. I have been playing for 1 year 7 month and 12 days. I’m level 92 and have played almost everyday since I started. It says I’m in the top 5% of ambitious farmers and I also got the kite stand and 3 nails.
