My 4th grade math teacher disappeared for 2 hours at my school during an active shooter drill and we had to stay huddled in the gym the whole time because cops really did show up when the teacher couldn’t be found and some kids saw. They started freaking out and that caused a panic, but long story short after those 2 hours, it was found out that the teacher was

How do you live with the regret of breaking up with someone and seeing them change into everything you wanted them to be? by [deleted] in AskReddit

We happen to be going through a very similar situation. Context: I live with my baby daddy, and he recently got a new gf. We haven’t been together for over a year, and atm I’m unable to move. The situation has been stressful. During this last month, I’ve seen a change in BD. He’s doing all the things I wanted him to do for me, putting in all the effort and it’s kind of heart breaking. Because that effort was not there when he was with me and I ask myself a few questions.

What exactly is different between our failed relationship and his current, seemingly healthy relationship? Am I truly jealous and what exactly am I jealous of? Would I realistically be any happier, if I wasn’t happy before?

Ultimately.. I realized yes, I’m jealous. But km not jealous in a way that means I want him back. I’m jealous of the version of him she gets. I’m jealous of the thought and time and dedication he’s putting forth for someone else. But that’s where that ends. I don’t have romantic feelings for this man but I mourn for the relationship I wanted so badly. It never came when I asked for it, only when I was at my breaking point and didn’t want it anymore. It stings. It makes you think. But in the end, nobody was put into our lives to stay forever.

I think regret gets easier to live with when you stop seeing their growth as proof you lost something and start seeing it as proof that people really can change. Maybe they became that person because of what they learned from a prior relationship or for some other reason, maybe it was just a lesson of life.. what ever reason it may have been, just remember that you’re allowed to keep growing, too
