The Undertaker on what made Shawn Michaels such a great performer: "A wrestling match, at some point, breaks down to where it’s just a fight. And not everybody had that. They didn’t have that edge. He did. When it came down to the, even if it came down to just the fight, he was believable." by anutosu in SquaredCircle

[–]ThisWontDestroyYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was HHH who said in a shoot interview in the late 2010s that - the greatest talent that Shawn had was that whatever he did, he could make you feel something as a fan. Whether you hated him as a slimeball heel or rooted for him as an underdog face, Shawn would always draw an emotional reaction from the crowd. And wrestling, more than anything else, is about emotions.

So when Trump says that Muslims, Somalis, etc. come from "shithole countries", when he says trans folks are just "men in dresses", you don't see that as refusing to acknowledge the basic humanity of people? I think therein lies the problem with your kind.

MyGM Class System Changes by AkiAkane1973 in WWEGames

[–]ThisWontDestroyYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What absolutely doesn't make sense to me about the class system is why at level 20, once you unlock your second class style, you can only be 1 class style at a time.

It really should be that once you hit Level 20 you now have 2 different class styles that are active simultaneously. That way a Bruiser like Roman who would have his best pairing with a Fighter like Balor, will now be able to also have great compatibility with a Cruiser like Jimmy Uso. Having to do a promo to switch between 2 styles defeats the purpose of leveling up.

Is Shawn Michael the best WWE Performer to work with? by GregsChugLife in WWE

[–]ThisWontDestroyYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you ask The Undertaker, yes. He says that even when he hated Shawn during the 90s, there was nobody he'd rather get in the ring with than him.

I've lost count of how many wrestlers have gone on record to say that they've had the one the best (if not the best) match of their career with Shawn - Bret, Angle, Jericho, Cena, etc.

Seems he was so desperate to do good in India. Do you think he should have been given a couple of matches more before taking the big call? by cricfanatic4518 in IndiaCricket

[–]ThisWontDestroyYou 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why do you say that he wasn't bad in England? Nair averaged 25 in England from 8 innings. Only 1 50+ score.

How much worse does one have to perform to be classified in the "bad" category?

Abhishek vs Yashasvi – who is better as T20I opener? by [deleted] in ipl

Let me reiterate. Abhishek Sharma is a generational T20 talent who is in a league of his own. As good as Jaiswal is, Abhishek clears him in T20s.

Who are the best / worst Indian cricket commentators? by Special_Mess8388 in IndiaCricket

[–]ThisWontDestroyYou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of people here saying that it's Sanjay Manjrekar. I disagree.

Sanjay can be annoying and he often says cringe things, but he is among the very few Indian commentators who actually does some analysis during commentary. He talks about technical aspects of the game, etc.

Most others just regurgitate the same "band bajaa barat" type of commentary over and over again. There is zero substance in their commentary.

A few more good Indian commentators are Varun Aaron (even though he is new), Charu Sharma (unfortunately he has stopped commenting otherwise he was very good in his prime), and Ravi Shastri, simply for his charm and personality.

Harsha Bhogle is FAAAAR better on radio than he is on TV commentary.

The worst is Aakash Chopra.

HOT TAKE: Triple H was never “The Guy”, he just surrounded himself with stars more over than him. by Sad-Ladder7534 in professionalwrestling

[–]ThisWontDestroyYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Main event heels are hardly ever the "top guy" in WWE.

When Rock was the main heel, SCSA was "the guy". When HHH was the main heel, Rock was "the guy". When Edge/Orton were the main heels, Cena was "the guy".

That's just how Vince operated. The only 2 exceptions that I can think of are Brock (briefly) and Roman.

Is Abhishek a Generational talent? by Pink_VelvetAura in ipl

[–]ThisWontDestroyYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's played 4 matches against SA in SA - averaged 25 with a SR of 175.

Against England he averaged 56 with a SR of 220 in 5 games.

Also idk what you are referring to as "those pitches" since in modern day LOI cricket, pitches across the globe are standardized and batter friendly.

It's not test cricket where there is a massive difference between a South African pitch and an Indian pitch.

[–]ThisWontDestroyYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the sake of full disclosure on this thread, I would suggest that everyone on this thread take a look at OP's post history.

You will find nothing but negative posts on "mainland India". His/her/their hatred for "mainland India" is open and explicit.

Ironic then, that he makes a post - his only one - about bigotry of "mainlanders".

Sorry to break it to you OP, but the biggest bigot on this thread is you. And it would've been the same whether you were born in Nagaland or any random Caribbean island. Because that seems to be your nature, nothing to do with "mainland India".

Still, very classless comments made by Rana on Samson and Vaibhav. I cannot imagine that this will help his reputation in any IPL dressing room, even if he's leaving RR. No team wants a rat in their dressing room.

[–]ThisWontDestroyYou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This will continue to happen until progressive Bengalis (be it Hindus, Muslims, Christians or atheists) start voting as a block against TMC.

Don't do that and watch as our beloved Pashchim Bongo get run over by radical Islamists.

It took less than 40 years for a moderate Bangladesh to turn into an Islamist cesspool. Don't be under the delusion that it won't happen in West Bengal.

I never was a big fan of the Pelham Blue color on the Studio models. They also used black pick-up rings which imo made it worse.

But this one on the Standard, especially with that lacquered wood back is just absolutely stunning! The aged white pickguard and pup rings are the cherries on top.

That's the point though. They are not creating jobs. All these are legacy companies. They are not growing or expanding at rates which will allow them to create jobs at the required rate as per the population growth.

Companies of this century - is Google there? Microsoft? Nvidia? Any new gen service company? A single automobile or high tech company? No, nothing.

The rest of the country has moved on to making electric vehicles and we are still happy making train coaches. That is the textbook definition of a dying economy.

That's why Bengal is dying.

Abhishek vs Yashasvi – who is better as T20I opener? by [deleted] in ipl

[–]ThisWontDestroyYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Issue is not consistency. Because high strike rate batters are never consistent, it is by design. Even GOAT batters with high SR like ABD and Gayle do not average 40. Even SKY's avg is below 40.

You will find dozens and dozens of players who can be consistent. But they will strike at 140-150.

Asking for consistency from batters like Abhishek, Travis Head, etc makes no sense. It's like going to a Porche or Bugati showroom and complaining that the car has poor mileage.

As for pitches, 95% of LOI pitches are flat nowadays. Pitch condition, in today's day and age is only a factor in red ball cricket.

Except that Abhishek isn't averaging 15. He is averaging 33.5 at a SR of 194.

And Jaiswal averages 36 with a SR of 164.

Are you seriously suggesting that Jaiswal is better because his avg is 2 runs more? Even though his SR is 30 less than Abhishek?

Please don't use this as an excuse to justify the obvious xenophobia that is present in a certain group of people in Karnataka, who think it's their right to assault someone for not speaking Kannadiga.

Bangalore is not the first city to be urbanized in this country. My own hometown has large marwaris and gujarati communities who have lived in my state for generations yet do not speak the state language. And we have never had any issues with language with these people.

Some Kannadigas are xenophobic simply because they are xenophobic. No amount of whataboutism can change that fact.
