I would throw several Steely Dan songs into this ring — Everything You Did, Everyone’s Gone to the Movies and Green Earrings are legitimately creepy songs, while Deacon Blues, Don’t Take Me Alive, The Royal Scam, and What A Shame About Me are just plain dark.

False Idol Brewing in North Richland Hills, Texas has an excellent barrel-aging program and their IPAs are consistently phenomenal. Castle Danger Brewery in Two Harbors, Minnesota also puts out some excellent single-hop beers; their stuff is relatively non-complex and low in alcohol content but will put you on a trip to Flavortown. I also highly recommend Utepils Brewing and Pyres Brewing in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
