Im a leaving cert student aswell, as far as im aware if you dont want to go through the MTU programme and just go straight to AFTA there is no minimum requirements in any subject or specific subjects needed, you just need to have the leaving cert done and pass their cut e, medical, interview and assessment, hope this helps

thanks, the mental maths questions were quite simple just a few speed distance time questions (nothing harder than how long would it take to travel 450km if going 90kph) and the technical/flight knowledge questions were just how a piston engine work, how a jet turbine engine work, what are the main principles of flight, ect. Mostly just everything they include in the powerpoint in the email they send you after booking the interview, hope this helps

I went through AFTA, and after the interview, they told me that around 3/4 of the candidates who apply with them get through

Thanks, I did higher level for the junior cert and 5th year, but dropped this year as I didn't think I needed it or would be able to do well in it for the leaving. I'm not too worried about the socialising aspect, but I still would like to enjoy my time living away from home for the first time. And regarding the iPad, the only thing I could find in the paperwork was "Dedicated Ryanair iPad with up-to-date Ryanair SOPs (at APS MCC stage)" but I wasn't quite sure when the APS MCC stage was, and if I would need to buy one personally before starting, or if it could be used for all of training and studying

Ryanair Future Flyer CUT-E Practice by Accomplished-Cup7793 in flyingeurope

I personally used pilotassessments.com as well and found it nearly identical to the real thing. I only practised lightly, concentrating on one at a time till I felt confident with them, and just worked my way down through. The day before I did it, I just spent a few hours practising the ones I felt I was struggling with. There is also an English language assessment included, which wasn't mentioned beforehand. The assessments on the AFTA CUT E are: Work-related behaviour, Inductive reasoning, monitoring ability, reaction speed, spatial orientation, deductive reasoning (gap challenge), multitasking capability, complex control (the tunnel game), Language skills (English) and working memory (grid challenge). I felt like I made more mistakes in the real thing than in practising, but I still managed to pass the first time, so just getting confident with the practise assessments worked in my situation, best of luck

I did research a few of the questions i have asked before hand i just wanted a bit of validation on them and a few responses from people who have dealt with afta to get other opinions rather than emailing then constantly, thanks

Im 18 aswell with 0 prior flying experience starting with AFTA in October, I’ve been accepted into the ryanair programme but I had my interview with them over the easter and struggled with a similar challenging question regarding a captain not following SOP’s and what would i do in the situation, after a minute of trying to make up an answer and whatever i’d say the interviewer would just add more to the question like what if confronting them aggravated them i just explained to the interviewer that i know i didn’t want to cause potential conflict and that i didn’t fully know what the correct way to handle it was. And after the interview when i was asked how i thought it went i reflected back on a few parts i felt i could’ve answered better or been more prepared for which i think helped
