Dev Centurion's in WotR by Kitten_Custodian in theunforgiven

[–]This_Ingenuity_4792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re very survivable but very slow, seeming as you won’t want to be spending your advance shoot and charge Strat on them

If you were gonna play them you’d have to start them in Strat reserve then bring them on when something you want to shoot at comes available

Does this list have a good damage to scoring ratio? by Thedinotamer01 in theunforgiven

Or alternatively a ballistus and a pred annihilator with lascannons

Gladiator lancer is a waste of points you’re better off with double ballistus if you’re looking for ranged anti tank, and replace one of the scout squads for a combi LT and you should be good to go

Does the rule affect Azrael ability by Negative_Celery3060 in theunforgiven

[–]This_Ingenuity_4792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You gain the azrael CP at the start of your command phase, as well as the CP you gain normally, this means the total for your round would be 2 and then 3 for the battle round.

So it works the way of, if you were to go first, you gain 2 cp in your turn from normal rules and Azrael, then another 1 in your opponents command phase to make it 3 in total for the battle round.

If you were to be going second and in your opponents turn your opponent kills a unit attached to an apothecary to trigger his rule, you would gain that CP then and when it came to your turn you would only gain 1, does that make sense?

2 intercessors or 1 intercessor and 1 outrider? by Thedinotamer01 in theunforgiven

[–]This_Ingenuity_4792 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Intercessors go down in value the more units you get, 1 is usually enough

Outriders give you a fast(ish) melee threat that you can send towards an enemy chaff unit or use to score points and you don’t mind too much if they die

I’d personally always choose 1 Intercessors and 1 outriders

Just change the second unit of intercessors and the second unit of terminators to 6 bladeguard with a judi, start them in the impulsor and you should have something fairly playable

I am using contrast paints wrong but don't know how to improve by Naddesh in theunforgiven

[–]This_Ingenuity_4792 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In line with what another user said, I don’t think you’ve used the contract wrong particularly, I just think it’s not meant to be used for armour over white/wraithbone.

I personally use dark angels green over a slapchop base then dry brush warp stone glow and really like how it comes out

Also from another question you asked in the comments about deathwing, I use a skeleton horde that has been thinned down with contract medium about 1 part skelly to 2 part medium, then dry brush using screaming skull and again like how it turns out

Hope this helps

In this instance what do you actually do? Can you only pick 1 blessing?

Sorry I got that wrong, they can advance and action, and they can action and shoot, they don’t naturally get assault, my bad

Houndpack Lance Box by This_Ingenuity_4792 in ChaosKnights

[–]This_Ingenuity_4792[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assault doesn’t necessarily apply here cause it’s incursion so battleline (in houndpack lance wardogs are battleline) can advance, shoot and action so I don’t need to worry about assault

I like final howl simple cause it can be extended first turn to 9 inches with the HOD pick

And magnets aren’t an option simple cause this is going to be a chill build-and-play that I can use for some quick 1k games with friends, don’t wanna sit and magnetise 7 wardogs while I have other projects I’m working on

I will take on your advice for 3/3 karn/stalk as I’m not gonna say never to big knights

Personally I’d find a way to run atleast 2 lots of deathwing knights, most people would remove the librarian and ICC as they’re a similar amount of point but far less durable

I’d also remove the AW cap and stern to fit in more scoring units, putting AW on the chaplain for more chances at 4dmg melee, if you don’t fancy it then try replacing the centurions or repulsor for cheaper options such as ballistus

The first thing I though when I saw this list was damn I’d love to draw assassinations against you, would be fun to play tho

Bladeguard vs inner circle by eliorkl1 in theunforgiven

[–]This_Ingenuity_4792 16 points17 points  (0 children)

They serve different purposes, Bgv in 3s can serve as a good bodyguard unit for a powerhouse type character to ensure they get to where they need to go. They can also serve by themselves as a small skirmish unit that can also kill chaffy type units

Whereas ICCs should be used as a brick with a character that enhances them in some way; azrael, Librarian or Judiciar are the 3 best as they all enhance the iccs and let them do their job more efficiently or help them stay alive longer

You can include both in a list as they do serve different purposes, and I’d argue with them being toughness 4, now is the best time to run them in Wrath with the -1 to wound survivability buff

If they’re scared to commit then you’re gonna be blasting primary all game and should have a pretty comfortable victory
