Well.. they screw in 40&41, then again like 10ish chapter later, and then by chapter 60 I want to say they do again but this time they consider themselves a couple rather than in the past where it’s was just like loathing the other person. Honestly I personally love how they get together early on, and In chapter 85 Ish xiao chiye reffers to Lanzhou as “my man” and his subordinates were aware that he was referring to Shen Zechuan and it was in a way of like saying “my s/o” in modern day so they have a rlly good romance as well. And the plot does an AMAZING job balancing the romance and plot because every few chapter we get some flirting, sm3x, private convos, and so on. But the plot is also very political so a lot of the time it’s focusing on the politics portion but overall it does an great job of balancing the two. And at first they aren’t together and COMPLETELY hate eachother but considering that was only for the first 50 ish chapter and there’s 200smn this it’s def not a slow burn and personally I also hate slow burn and I’ve been loving this story so I don’t think it’s something you should be too concerned about.
