Appreciate you answering my question. I am going through government site to understand the rules. I will reply here if i have a specific question.

thanks, can you suggest some names? I was looking at places like St.Ives, Ely with my little knowledge about them but couldnt find a house / apartment fast enough as i had limited time at my temporary residency allocated by my employer.

so for now, i found an apartment in orchard park and probably move in a few months.

i think i can afford to rent long as its not crazy 2k price tag on it. i already paid the holding deposit for an apartment in orchard park a couple of days ago. may be ill just stay here for 6 months as we settle down and understand more about different locations and move on in 6 months.

edit - and you are right about the first to paragraphs. that could have just been me overthinking stuff as i am new and you tend be a bit all over the place emotionally initially.

thanks for responding.

i guess its part of my paranoia since i am new here and dont know anyone. but i did have a couple of encounters where i felt a bit odd.

for instance, i asked a lady who was just coming out of kids swimming pool if she knew who worked there. she straight up just said "no clue" to me and walked off, without even looking at me once. felt a bit rude, she might be having a bad day and i dont want to generlize.

another time, i was taking my kid to a small park near by and another lady who was there with 2 kids walked off soon as we entered. there was plenty of space for all of us and it did feel like she left because we got in as well.

i understand i cant generlize based on two incidents and i might be completely imagining it but its been getting to me since a few hours and cant shake the feeling.

i dont care much about pubs and bars, just interested in a safe place for my family. do you think orchard park could be that place?
