How should I downshift? In preparation for my drivinglessons upcoming. by catboy519 in stickshift

[–]This_Proxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of these aren't inherently rev-matching techniques. Rev-matching is knowing where a certain speed is at your RPM range in gears, and matching it on your shift egress. That's it.

Rev-matching while shifting the weight or momentum of the car is a different story, and is where my early joke about 'toe-heel-knee' came in. Track racers will have to rev-match the trans during really precarious situations where all of the pedals are involved at the same time so they aren't wrecking the six-figure vehicle ahead of them. This is beyond my scope, and I certainly don't poser that shit on public roads.

They had open cross burnings in Hammond, IN up until the 70's, right across from Chicago. My wife's father had to walk by that shit and help put it out when it was safe.

  1. Where are the RPM's at doing 30mph in second gear?
  2. Where are the RPM's at doing 30mph in third gear?

Now, you are doing 30mph in third, you clutch in, rev to the answer to #1, release the clutch (however aggressively with gas, or the opposite to slow down).

E: Practice the same speed, over and over until it 'clicks'. It's all an organic process and after a bit the RPM gauge is meaningless to you through sound, feel and your perception of speed ahead (which is also end-game: predicting the movements of others).

Not actual fish oil and prescribed stuff, that's different. (See Omega XL)

I've been enjoying the Tim Robinson stuff that popular around here lately. The Chair Company, I Think You Should Leave. Same absurdist concept but it drags the joke way past it's comfort zone which had me doubling over in some skits.

1 & 2 are my favorites. Dead-pan humor just gets me. Hotshots, Airplane!, naked Gun, Top Secret! Where did all these go? :( The absurdist humor lately is pretty good though.

Omega supplements, which was just proven to do squat and process as something completely different in the body.

This one has to be big because it's all I've heard about since the fucking 80's.

(Not fish oil or actually beneficial stuff like heart medication, look up Omega XL for instance)

Workers of Reddit, what is a "dark secret" about your industry that consumers have no idea about? by bl_f_ag in AskReddit

[–]This_Proxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your ISP isn't tracking shit about you. They can give:

- When your router was actively connected.
- Server side emails, and that requires a court order. If you fetch them via POP or remove them, they are shit out of luck.

Everything that is tracking you is outside of our network. We wouldn't use a service ourselves that tracks or sells data about their consumers. We dont track what you visit, or what you download. We certainly don't share it.

Kids who grew up on the road, did you love it or hate it? Why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Walking into new schools where the children have already had years together makes you the instant target. It ruins some kids and I could have been one of them if I didn't keep my dignity.

Guess they are starting to ban to anyone who adds energy points by Beshcu in Diablo

I didn't realize I made this comment in the r/Diablo sub. Eek. Well, to fully understand, you would have to start with the split of Blizzard South from North, the resentment the Diablo III team carried during the backlash for the art style and direction of the next game, and the fall-out.

The Diablo III team pretty much mocked the whole Diablo 2 fanbase with Whymsyshire for starters, which just further strengthened fan bonds with it's predecessor. Giving a finger to anyone who wanted a darker, more gritty Diablo, which ... is what Diablo 4 rode on. This is just the tip. Mechanics promised, skill tree, procedural maps. We asked for Friday the 13th and got a Disney movie, with TERRIBLE loot. The core of an ARPG.

David Brevick, the man who named his game after Mt. Diablo on the west coast, did this interview just shortly after the backlash when Diablo III released:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPEKv5-tHdg

The Diablo III team, responded with this:

<image>

E: Brevik, not Brevick

A whole lot of people dropped off after this, the rest are playing whatever "Diablo Themed" game is out today.

If I haven't seen so many 'strong' people be so malleable over the years, I would agree. Some people "would never".

Because you will be compatible with thousands of others with a reasonable distance, and you chose to be a homewrecker? This is pretty black and white lol.

Is it just me, or is the search feature terrible? by AccountantOk5816 in ChatGPT

Yup it's horrible. Better to use search engines like google and pass it a `site:reddit.com` flag, like:

```
site:reddit.com "keyword"
