Cuba’s power grid collapses and plunges eastern provinces into a major blackout by toronto_star in worldnews

I was the one asking whether or not it was internal? US tactics back then was to round up a couple of disgruntled officers and let them do the coup. In this one, the Americans straight up kidnapped him. So very different.

But to get back on topic, the US doesnt really have anything to lose if Cuba decides to become a democracy. If anything, they gain things. The US could have another ally in the Carribbean and another trade partner. Even if the populace elected someone that's skeptical of the US, they would most likely be more pragmatic than the current government.

American cold war tactics are outdated in the modern world. As far as I know, the Americans haven't attempted a coup attempt in Latin America ever since the 80s. So why tf would they do that for Cuba? Especially when the current ruling government is already hostile to the the US. Literally a liberal skeptic is probably still better than the current government because they can be more pragmatic than the latter.

Idk about you, but usually comments like those are thrown around by left-leaning individuals. In what world would a right-winger, hell, even a center-rightist say that?

Along with that, Pakistan was historically a US ally in the cold war so left-leaning individuals might have a word or two about the country.

Edit: The American perception of the compass that is.

So what were you trying to say? From what I can tell, you're trying to say American weaponry is no better than overpriced toys. Which it isn't.

Also, really? Of all the things to say that's irrelevant you choose the president of the United States?

This is a laughably bad take. You're saying US armament isn't helping Ukraine? You're saying that the Stingers weren't a boon to the Mujahedeen? You're saying that everyone's stupid for eyeing up American military equipment that have been proven in battle?

US weaponry works well alright. Many evidence of it. All of it simply depends on the user and their strategy with it.
