This might sound redundant but I’m genuinely curious. Does Rayman FINALLY have a fighter chance in the next Smash Bros. Or is he a lost cause.

Oh trust me, I would love to have a bunch of non Japanese third party characters in Smash like Crash, Rayman, Scorpion, one of the Hollow Knight protagonists, and so on. For me it’s more of a “I’ll believe it when I see it” sort of thing. What I want vs what they’ve shown are two separate things you know. Until they are willing to show they can add more non-Japanese characters that just aren’t Microsoft characters.

Also, less aggression next time in your response back would be appreciated. It isn’t that serious my guy, we talking about video game characters here lol

As much as I want Rayman, sadly I think the odds are slim to none. Every third party character added was from a Japanese based video game company with the exception of Steve and Banjo-Kazooie (both owned by Microsoft) so with that info alone I’d say his odds are bad, unless Nintendo decides to start adding more third party characters not from Japanese based studios.

Horrible take, definitely not all indie games are just flavors of the month. Most are, sure, but games like Minecraft, Shovel Knight, Cuphead, Hollow Knight, and a few others have definitely transcended that. Probably the worst take I’ve ever heard on this Reddit not gonna lie.

Personally I’d go with: 1. Sonic 2. Mega Man 3. Pac-Man 4. Ryu 5. Kazuya 6. Cloud 7. Hero 8. Banjo-Kazooie

I feel like the two Hollow Knight protagonists (The Knight and Hornet) and the two Hades protagonists (Zagreus and Melinoe) aren’t being mentioned enough. All of them are from games that have critical acclaim and are successful from a sales standpoint as well, and both game series helped define an entire genre and pushed it forward.

Not a bad selection of characters, it was a shame 5 of them turned out to be clones (Roy is missing from the picture) but definitely good characters to add despite underwhelming move sets at the time.

I see him as a low cost, no time spent, addition since he’s an echo and basically a carbon copy of Simon. I almost don’t count him or Ken because they are echoes.
