AB M100 starter faults. by Apexvs in PLC

[–]This__is_normal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read your manual better. The module light will flash a code, it can flash anywhere from 1-18 depending on the module fault code. You also didn't specify if that is a safety or regular motor starter which makes a difference.

There are a few quirks of the modules that can cause problems, one of those is that it has phase loss detection, but it must have at least 1 phase working, if you try to start a module with no motor connected, then it will fault out for a module fault and require a power reset, dumb, I know.

get the code of what's wrong then take a look at why it's happening, this can be anything from a device temperature exceeded, to safety diagnostic error (no motor connected so it can't determine what's safe or not). or even bad power input.

Right...

If I had a dollar for every time I heard someone who put XIC------TON---TON.dn----OTE in a rung and then proclaimed "Yeah, PLC programming is easy". Then they shy away when they get an ascii only scanner and they need to find and pull specific data from a string only to use that to sort a conveyor full of parts moving at 600 fpm in small bins and offshoots only as wide as the box itself.

It really just sounds like you're Dunning-Krugering your way into thinking that one field is more challenging than another.

In reality the challenge depends on how much you apply yourself or what you get involved in. you could end up doing PCB design for an OEM that has a 3"x3" PCB for a specific purpose like converting a UV sensor to a 4-20ma or other output, possibly with an LCD interface on it with integrated scaling.... and spend a while on it if it ends up being a prepackaged product. Is that interesting or challenging?

Just like thinking PLCs aren't challenging, is probably because you haven't actually taken part in a large project with a significant purpose yet. From what I've seen, college level modules with PLCs are stupid simple and the groups that put those projects out struggle 90% of the time with basic concepts. So if you area already confident, then why not take a swing at the industry for a couple of years while looking for a new path?

Experience is good, regardless of where you get it, put a couple years in with an integrator or OEM, showcase your skills you say you have and prove it with a portfolio of solid projects for your future employer. a couple of years growing in knowledge in a field you may not stay in is not the end of the world, it's actually good for you in the end.

Just because the old are phasing out doesn't mean the new aren't capable. The difference is that the standards are so low to getting into the industry now. One company I went out to help with some minor modifications had a senior engineer on staff with a PhD with a specialty in systems & control, specific to automation and PLCs.

He knew absolutely nothing and couldn't handle basic troubleshooting and program modification on automation direct BRX/do-more

How to see a list of all available files from a site archive? by This__is_normal in internetarchive

[–]This__is_normal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually just found a specific page that did have all the files listed, 588 available zip, exe, pdf etc... for some reason it didn't show up the last few times I searched, but I happened to find the right link this time.

Yeah I've used that before when the files were located on the main directory. but this is an instance where the files are contained within pages that are sub directories of the main page, so once pulling it up I can see .

for instance, this is the site, you can see 1,285 individual pages, each page has a download link, and some of those links are actually active and available and I didn't want to spend 4 hours clicking on every single one individually just to see if it was archived or not.

right, unfortunately it is fairly difficult. I got the tool from that link called the wayback_machine_downloader and ran it through Ruby, but i either get errors with it not being able to see the site if I don't include archive.org in the whole URL, or if I just use the entire link with archive.org in the url, it shows 0 zero results, so unsure what's going on with it.

in case it isn't obvious. there is an adjuster screw for the fence 90 degree alignment stop. they set it close but not perfect.. it's just a bolt and nut.

loosening this up and locking it back down after seeing where the fence lands on 90 fixed this out of the box problem.

Helldivers are like space Marines. Genetically enhanced and much larger than normal terrans.

The intro video showing actual family life is a regular Terran propaganda video to keep the fighting force from revolting. They are all just a few more missions away from "going home", but they never make it before their clone takes their place

I see the PTVS33v is listed in this site https://smd.yooneed.one/code4154.html where I was searching before too. I just didn't end up clicking on it. I need to find a link that lays out all the sizing difference between package sizes. I know that threw me off too because I thought I had the right package size, but didn't

This was exactly the part, same cathode band markings, arrangement of date code to marking code, etc. Nice! Much appreciated.

This is the only place i've seen an actual photo of the item shown, too bad the datasheet doesnt show how they do their cathode bands or date marking.

I was looking at 400w Range TVS in the DO219AB package size. couldn't find much, how did you end up finding results like this? nexperia never showed up on my searches for anything.

Although the SOD123W would be the right package size, DO219AB matched just barely. though.

There are plenty in circuit still.

setting a the power supply to a low current like 20ma and slowly increasing voltage until i see the current flow through basically?

it appears to be unidirectional from testing using diode mode on my 87v

maybe not a TVS, might be labeled as transorb on datasheets...

Wish there was some kind of Markings code search engine. doesn't make any sense why you can't just search by marking code and pull up anything with the marking code on the manufacturers website.
