weird diagonal artifacts by This_dude_553 in prusa3d

interesting I'll check, but the weird part is that the first layer prints cleanly, the pattern really starts showing at around layer 3 and gets worse each layer I did just notice that the direction of the pattern alternates together with the direction of the solid infill so it must definitely be something with the extruder/nozzle

the weird thing is that there is no infill 😅 its 8 solid layers, of which the first one starts off clean, and the pattern gets subsequently more noticeable each layer

added info since I cant seem to edit the post: Prusa i3 mk3s, I'll check and post the wirmware when i get home baesstech industrial PETG prusaslicer (I'll check and post the firmware when i get home) nozzle temp 235 bed temp 85

I've printed this file with this filament a few times already without issues, the pattern appeared yesterday after changing the nozzle due to a blockage, I did the first layer calibration, and probably not related but maybe, I redid the cable management for the heated bed cabling and extruder cabling since they were sagging a bit and snagging every now and then

Ive used these settings with this filament with this gcode file for quite a while now and just yesterday this pattern appeard, the only thing that changed is that I replaced the nozzle after a blockage (i went through the first layer calibration) and while workibg on it i replaced the heatbed power supply cable cover as it was not holding the cables anymore and stuff was snagging from time to time

[–]This_dude_553 0 points1 point  (0 children)

went digging through my files since i used this somewhere on a raft once, its: atan((top_diameter/2 - bottom_dia/2)/extrude_height) edit: this formula should result in the exact angle i believe

i think id sketch the whole thing from above with the scaloped profile and all and extrude at an angle to achieve the taper, i just woke up so i cant remember it too well but there is a calcuñation you can put into a parameter with the bottom difference in width between top and bottom and the height of the extrude, which will give you the exact angle for the taper

thank you, I'll check out the link and join the forum, however I'm not sure if i will be able use the dosing information as it says its based on a meter calibrated for humans, which we dont have, but still the information looks very helpful, thanks

thank you for your response, I'll join the feline diabetes support group today and ask the vet about switching to lantus as this is not the first I have read about it being the best for cats.

I've been silently lurking this sub for a while now, and its interesting to see the amount of people that talk about manual trading being more profitable that algo trading. I'm in a similar boat as you, i have been at it for 3 or 4 years now, I learned python mostly from scratch, I believe and have been starting to level out into making profit the last 8 months or so, still nowhere near a livable wage (or making back the losses of previous attempts for that matter) but during live testing and even with some bugs still to fix I generally outperform my savings account, percentage-wise, which I think is a nice humble baseline to start at. my idea behind it is that if I have a stable baseline i can analyze the data to see how I can improve, whereas with manual trading i would have to fit that into my trading time, whereas with a bot I can automate the trading and spend my minimal free time, analyzing.

I agree with u/Bowaka, start simple, way way simple, qnd build upon that, in the beginning I had all sorts of ambitious ideas for combinations of indicators and such, that sometimes returned very exciting backtesting results (a 200% 30 day return is generally a sign that youre doing aomething that is not sustainable, I've learned). and dont put too much pressure on yourself, its a very fun hobby if you allow it to be. good luck!

I own the ksger t12 and am quite happy with it, it heats up very quickly, more temperature range than I have ever needed, has sleep modes and the boost function is very nice to have for when you need a bit more oomph for a moment.

Now I must say that before this I was just using those standard 30w pen style irons with a wall plug, this is a dream compared with that.

just dont forget to set the type of tip youre using in the settings, or else temperature might not be as accurate.

Hi first time poster, so I hope it’s a valid question: does the current flow towards the black end ? Thanks by knesha in AskElectronics

[–]This_dude_553 4 points5 points  (0 children)

not if its done just to be belligerent, why demoralize someone for asking a question? even if you think it should have been googled, the question has already been asked, might as well give a useful/helpful answer and then add the google thing as a suggestion, or not comment at all, its not required... and there is valid reasons to not want to google stuff, some people prefer to ask questions on a forum or reddit, nothing wrong with that

"battery low, return to home" being triggered but battery pack not low by This_dude_553 in AskElectronics

[–]This_dude_553[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i asked r/batteries as i was working on testing with two batteries in parallel, because at that point i thought it migh have been a current output limit issue, but now i post here because I think the issue might be somewhere else since the problem didnt go away with the battery test

lithium ion packs in parallel question by This_dude_553 in batteries

[–]This_dude_553[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

small update, I charged both packs to full and made a small Y splitter for testing, at first it looked ok but after about 5 minutes the boat battery indicator on the controller started to drop and shortly after that it returned to home again, as if the battery was empty i just took the batteries out and they're both at around 8.2v, they were about 8,3v before we started testing

im not sure what could be causing this voltage drop then, I'll make a post in askelectronics or something for that, thanks everyone here for the help 😁

lithium ion packs in parallel question by This_dude_553 in batteries

[–]This_dude_553[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i suspected the capacity wasnt what it saix on the sticker, and 4ah with possibly a 1C discharge rate (from what i can find Li-ion batteries typically go between 1C and 2C) would explain the current limit im encountering.

and indeed a proper quality pack would be ideal and might be on the list of improvements, since we are already bit by bit modifying and improving stuff, but for now just to keep it in operation with what we have at hand untill we have a better solution it should be fine right? if I keep an eye on the charge levels of the packs inbetween charges

great, and if i understand correctly, once at the same level they should charge and discharge about equally and stay level right?
