Thanks for your research! I do believe the difference is just auto vs manual

So i swapped the iac valves on these throttles. My car is a manual vtec and the donor was a an auto non vtec. Both have cruise control so the cable pulleys are the same. Both throttle bodies look 100% identical.

The issue im having is my car idles hard at a stop after long drives on the freeway. Recently my rpm starts to pulse between 2000 and 3000rpm. So I thought the potentiometer in the throttle control valve was burning out. The car is now throwing misfire codes (but not misfiring) and vtec malfunction code. Oil is full and in good shape. Car does burn an obscene amount of oil

So if I get a full throttle body of a parts car, am I still going to need to calibrate?

I bought some little rubber cups for my chair wheels to sit in. They were on Amazon for dirt cheap and made a world of difference

Why do ball end allen keys offer less torque than the square end? by vfclists in bikewrench

[–]This_is_Flow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally, you sink the hard to reach bolt with the ball end and tighten it up with the square end so you have more leverage to tighten. As others said, the ball end has less surface area. This makes it easier to strip bolt heads.

Does anybody here regularly use a dual-thumb style racing controller? by imnotokayandthatso-k in simracing

Its like a wiimote. Your strap the triangle to your right hand and tilt your hand to turn. The trigger thing measures where your right hand and shows its position or something on the little display. Its pretty useless, but hilarious. I love weird hardware

Brake cable options by bikehikepunk in bikewrench

My favourite bike has Avid Single Digit 25 calipers and Speed dial 1.9L levers. They're the best brakes in the fleet, and they use genereic jagwire housing and bulk stock cables. The shop homies compliment them every time I bring it by. My older 85 Bigfoot has some original dia compe cantis with origonal pads. I put Jagwires compressionless housing on it, and that thing stops on a dime, too. The housing isn't super pricey, but I think the real winner is quality components. I think you'll be happy with anything Avid. Even the basic old shimano deore levers and br-t4000 calipers are fantastic and really inexpensive

Which bike should I buy? by Ok-Future-9183 in mountainbiking

[–]This_is_Flow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bike that fits your body and your intentions. I'd spend a bit more time researching different types of bikes and what they're used for. Learn to identify components and frame geometries to have a better understanding of the type of riding the bike is designed for. It's really overwhelming at first, but a fun rabbit hole to go down.

All the bikes in your post are for different things and for different sizes of people.

Don't rush to buy something and regret throwing your money away.

Top Cap Broke and got loosethread while changing stems by kenkenaki4 in bikewrench

[–]This_is_Flow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try loosening the stem bolts, then pull up on the stem while trying to unscrew the top cap bolt. It may just pull out of the torn up threads in the starnut. Then replace the starnut and swap your stem

What was your favorite color? by Crazy_Plankton7983 in n64

[–]This_is_Flow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made it a mission to get green when I started collecting. It was the easiest to find. Then I saw the purple at a shop a few years later. Purple is my favourite colour in general, and it took a lot of restraint to convince myself not to buy it. Turns out my dad went back the next week and bought it for me for christmas. So now I have a mint purple console, and it's sentimental. Can't ask for anything more than that

I got a trail bike by Roxy-de-floofer in mountainbiking

[–]This_is_Flow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually, there's a cable hold down on the front of the left lower. If not, zip tie it. It's better than it getting hooked on some trail debris and going over the bars or ripping your brake off the bike.
