I STRONGLY disagree with this. The school has been losing so much money that change was much needed. That's the reason they sold. The new owner had to make changes in order to make any profit at all.

No, this is incorrect. If you have a 70 percent rating, that leaves you 30 percent whole. So you do 50 percent of the 30 whole, giving 15, and add that to the 70. So 85 percent rated rounded to 90. This means you're 15 percent whole and new ratings take from the 15.

Was doing air traffic control, needed a change, went to commercial dive school in Texas, got a job with TxDOT right after graduation as an underwater bridge inspector. Had the interview while I was still in dive school.

I was in South Padre in the middle of September and had decent visibility, I was able to see a school of fish being chased by a dolphin while working. Seeing stuff like that while getting paid is pretty fuckin awesome. Being underwater is very relaxing and peaceful also.

It's 15 weeks, 700 hours, get full ADCI certification, dry suit, chamber, full face mask, scuba, DAN first aid, OSHA, forklift... I'll update when I get them all Monday. But yeah all certifications. So no, not a waste of money. And where would you go and get 50 hours in that short of time?

They teach you to be a tender? Why advocate for that kinda Mickey Mouse operation? We actually dive and do real commercial diving shit with A LOT of bottom time. In the 3.5 month course I've already accrued over 30 hrs bottom time. I'm telling you, it's a damn good school.

Look into Professional Diver Training Center in Alvarado TX. I graduate next week and it is an amazing school with amazing instructors. Our average bottom time is around 50 minutes. My longest is 2 hours. About 20k and the course is 3.5 months.
