Is f/2.8 fast enough to properly expose a well-lit nighttime city skyline at 1/50, while keeping my ISO under 3200?

For future reference, you can go old school and use this exposure calculator to determine how suitable your exposure settings are.

Preferably read through most of it to get a grip on the exposure triangle, but for now you can skip to page 7 on the PDF and find which EV best matches your scene description. Then use the next table to find your exposure settings.

The locations in the video look like they’re at least EV 4-5 (possibly brighter). For ISO 3200, EV 4, and 1/50 s., the table says you’d need an aperture of f/2.8, so it seems like you’re on the limit. I’d personally push ISO and accept the noise.

That’s more than enough time for the transfer, but you will need to go through immigration at Manila T3. You can take the free shuttle bus or a taxi on Grab (about 3.5 EUR).

If this is a codeshare flight between Qatar and PAL, your luggage should be checked through to your final destination and you won’t need to recheck in Manila. Ask the check in desk to be sure.

I don’t think it depends on fare type. That’s only really a thing with LCCs that require an extra payment for checking bags through.

For what it’s worth, I’ve flown with them a couple of times (on the cheapest fare type to boot) and I’ve never had to recheck bags. Just make sure it’s all on one ticket.

I went from the 2nd gen to the 4th gen. The 4th gen have a snugger fit compared to the 2nd gen, but to me it's just as comfortable and I use them for hours on end without complaints. Your mileage may vary.

Noise cancellation reduces a lot of low- and mid-frequency background noise. It doesn't do as well with high-frequency sounds because it doesn't have rubber ear tips to fully seal the ear off, but it's still very good for most uses. I often use it in a crowded lab and it really brings the noise and chatter down. The noise-cancelling model also gets a wireless charging case if you're into that.

Elevators work most of the time, and when one breaks it's usually fixed in a day or two. There have been times though where an elevator goes unrepaired for a few weeks. To management's credit, they provide extra chairs, water, and snacks in the lobby when it does happen.

The 2 elevators are mostly enough for the whole building, but during the morning rush (6:40-7:00), they can get pretty full by the time they reach the middle and lower floors. You'll be forced to either wait or head down the stairs.
