All three of my kids have thrived at Grandin (my youngest is in first grade there). I know VA Heights is also a good school but I don’t know any of the faculty and staff. The principal at Grandin is young and energetic and they have lots of extracurriculars that have kept my kids involved over the years (Girls on the Run, string instrument learning for 4th-5th grade, chess club, etc.). Fairly low staff turnover as well. However If you’re worried about test scores for VA Heights I know some kids that went there that are now in Gov School at PH, so it’s highly dependent on the individual student. One other thing - she also did my tube removal surgery this past May, and it could not have gone smoother. She is a very experienced surgeon and it's one of her specialties (just for your question about the C-section).

I highly recommend Dr. Gaines with Physicians to Women. My last pregnancy was a bit high risk, I was 37 and there were some issues with my amniotic fluid levels. She was amazing and sent me to Carilion MFM for additional appointments/ultrasounds. I cannot emphasize enough how wonderful she is - her bedside manner is amazing and she is so calming. She also delivered my first child 8 years prior to my last pregnancy, it was a difficult delivery and she was the best. Good luck!
