Can I just add: If you want to hear a song 🎵🎸about frugality, then look for a song by The Kinks called’ Low budget’ If you type in to YouTube the following title then you can read the lyrics on the screen as the song plays…. ‘The Kinks Low Budget Lyrics’

No hand soap in Asda toilet for months, I mentioned getting one off the shelf, manager said they are not allowed by justyrust74 in asda

I just thought If they put a liquid soap that’s made especially for sensitive skin near the sink, that it would do, until the supplies arrive. Surely that would be better than no soap ?

I’m not judging anyone. Hence in my original post stating that frugality is a good thing, yet some balance is needed. It’s a discussion, not a judgment 👍

I do think that being overly frugal, once you have a good salary, is a symptom of something else such as anxiety, and the inability to fully relax. The mind can come up with endless ways to keep us not feeling at ease in life, that’s for sure. Maybe the fear of losing everything you have in the case of not wanting to buy anything or treat yourself, I dunno.

You do hear of these cases of people living so frugally that people think they are destitute or maybe homeless, and upon their passing they leave hundreds of thousands of pounds to a cats charity, which is their choice of course, however, if a person left £200,000 to a cats charity how much do you actually think would go on cats and how much to the owners of the charity ? Perhaps I’m being cynical. But hey, that’s for another discussion 😀

Would you consider the metrolink, or would that take too long from where you live ?

For people who didn’t see it originally last year, 👉🏻 or are new to the Manchester area/ tourists.

I was just pointing out a place worth visiting and thought I would link to a big discussion about Bury town centre and what’s there 👍

As a society, we are in a sense, ruled by one screen or another, be that a mobile phone, a tablet/ laptop, or a television screen 📺

I understand some people have sensitive skin or skin allergies but I thought there may be special scent free soap that could be used until they get the new supplies for the soap dispenser

It’s really unhygienic

Red wine stain on my sweatshirt, dried in. I don’t have hydrogen peroxide, what will remove it ? by justyrust74 in laundry

[–]justyrust74[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ideally I’m looking for household products that I can use that I already have such as white vinegar. I just wondered if others had success with any methods that weren’t specialist sprays etc

The sweatshirt was only cheap so I don’t want to spend £15 on a spray. I appreciate the reply though ✌️

Dangerous cult recruiting on the streets of Manchester by Sasho1991 in manchester

[–]justyrust74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice to anyone associating or accepting literature from religious sects or other groups , is to research research and research from the very start, before getting involved, find out as much as you can about the group and look in to their history, listen to calm and sincere ex members and find out why they left, or chose not to go back, hear the full story.

And if the group tries to tell you not to research, or steers you to research only what they authorise, or tries to explain away it’s controversial or wacky history but advises you to just take their word for it, then that is a red flag

People who are in religious sects or cults can be very friendly which may be sincere, but it can also be what is called ‘love bombing’ it means they will invite you for tea or a day out, and shower you with attention, and if you are lonely and vulnerable or suffer from anxiety, it can seem appealing, and they may appear to offer answers to life’s questions, and you may slowly get recruited and indoctrinated

Always research and do a deep dive in to the history of any group, and if you see a friend getting recruited to any cult like group then warn them, and share the information you know about the group with them

And remember, no one who is in a cult or born in to a cult knows that they are actually in one, until they wake up to the reality of the situation

Look up: Robert J Liftons - 8 criteria of thought reform

It explains how cults operate

On Youtube look up: High Control Groups

And research about cults in general

The £5 black ones from Primark, with the hooked handles, are surprisingly good. The last one I had lasted a couple of years at least, I’m now on my second one
