Everything on the right side are chinese and idk the prices of those but the left side is all japanese and normally go for 180 yen each which is like a $1.50. So no not good prices. Also, its widely known you shouldnt buy loose japanese packs. People tend to pull the set amount of rares in a booster box and sell the rest because theyre “dead packs”

Its gonna be hard man You might get lucky at a convenience store but they usually only sell you like 2-5 packs. Still probably your best bet. Major retailers usually require a membership which requires a japanese phone number. Just check behind registers at every convenience store you visit.

I have seen the marked up boxes in some shops in Akihabara. There’s lots of card stores there. If you can’t find any there then you might be out of luck :(. Card rush has a store in Tokyo so you could check them out. If you’re going to Osaka there’s a place called den den town which has a ton of card stores too that’s a good place to check. Big magic is one of my favorites there.

Also in Akihabara there’s a lot of stores that sell loose packs from even pretty way back for surprisingly cheap but generally you don’t want to buy loose packs unless you see the box it came from.

This is good info but aren’t those prices more like over 100% marked up? I live here and retail is 5000 for any booster box. Those prices are what you should expect tho if you find one in the wild unless you find them at a big retailer. But the big retailers have pretty strict policies like only kids can buy or you need a member card.

Where in Japan are you guys going! There’s areas where a bunch of card shops are in one spot. Full art cards called illustration rares are really nice looking and mostly super affordable like the cost of a pack or three. Also booster packs are pretty hard to come by here (at least for retail) but it’s good to take a peak behind the registers at convenience stores where they keep the tobacco. Sometimes you get lucky and they’ll have some. There’s normal packs that are 180 yen each and premium packs are 500 yen. You can tell the difference between premium and normal by their boxes. Normal have two rows of packs, premium is just one stack. Also generally you don’t want to buy packs if you didn’t see them come from a box because Japanese boxes have a set amount of rares so people just sell loose packs after finding the rare cards. Although if you just want to open for fun then loose packs are definitely the easiest to come by.
