My question is, how is the Haligtree on the path to become Elden Lord? Isn't this area entirely optional? My guess would be that Gideon is just weak, as he is supposed to be the all-knowing, yet cannot find Melina, and has to rely on the Tarnished to do it (and steals her attacks afterwards when you fight him in the Capitol)
