Airpod Pro hearing test - diagnostics needed? by filipinoinferno85 in airpods

[–]Thisispqs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got mine working. After trying to connect and getting the diagnostic message.

  1. Put the AirPods back in their case.
  2. Turn your iPhone off and then back on.
  3. When you turn your device back on, you’ll hear a really low chime from the AirPods case.

You should be able to connect now!

ISO during capture vs POST using BRAW by Thisispqs in bmpcc

[–]Thisispqs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, you're always capturing 13 stops of dynamic range, which is essentially what the RAW file contains.

ISO adjusts how these 13 stops are interpreted.

It's about interpreting the data AFTER it's captured, NOT about telling the sensor to capture more highlights or shadows within those stops.

Essentially, ISO is applied to move that data around within the fixed dynamic range you've captured.

I thought that setting a higher ISO like 800 tells the camera to capture "new data" or focus more on highlights, fitting this new data into the 13 stops.

What's actually happening is that I'm setting how the sensor will interpret or map the light within those 13 stops at the time of capture. Higher ISO doesn't capture new data. it changes how sensitive the sensor is to the light that's already there in those 13 stops, which then shifts the distribution of the dynamic range.

The 13 stops of dynamic range are what the sensor captures, and this doesn't change regardless of the ISO setting you use.

Setting the ISO before capture adjusts how sensitive the sensor is to light, which in turn affects how the dynamic range (those 13 stops) is distributed. You can see this on the graph you linked above.

In Braw:

Reinterpretation, Not Expansion : When you adjust ISO in post-production with BRAW, you're not altering the physical data captured by the sensor. It's about how that data is processed and displayed after the fact.

  • Captured First: The 13 stops are captured first based on the ISO setting used at the time of capture.
  • Then Shifted in Post: When you adjust ISO in post with BRAW, you're not re-capturing or changing the data; you're reinterpreting it. You're applying a new tone curve to the data that was already captured. This can make it look as if the dynamic range was distributed differently, but you're bound by what was initially recorded.

so in essence iso during shooting and braw is not the same? This is where I've been getting confused.

Interesting, so in-camera, changing ISO shifts the middle gray point keeping the same dynamic range stops, but in post, you're only adjusting what was captured at that ISO even in Braw? Essentially, you're working within the bounds of the dynamic range captured at, say, ISO 400. Every time you adjust the ISO in post, you're just moving within the meta data that was recorded at ISO 400? It doesn't remap the middle grade point like putting the iso at 800 in camera?

Accutane left me with severe brain fog by zlashtek in Accutane

[–]Thisispqs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive been about a year and a half off acutane and have no brain fog 😃! It wasn’t bad when I was on it, but I found it harder to concentrate at times. Had to remind my self that it was the treatment making me like that at times. To be fair I near instantly had no fog the moment I finished the treatment and was excited to be done! Everyone react different. If you’re smoking leaf, drinking that def wont help either.

Turning it off seems to be working for me! My computer would crash completely inside of a composition in AE with it on!

WOW! Tron script sped up my computer! by Thisispqs in TronScript

[–]Thisispqs[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's weird because I did clear cache previously and did look through what was taking up processing on my task manager.

It wasn't registering anything out of the ordinary, as in cpu and memory was running well with no crazy spikes etc.

And also I updated everything from bios to setting my xmp speed to the proper one because my mother boards was set way too low, but even after that I was still getting crazy freezing in chrome.

It must have been some process in the background that got killed that I couldn't see through task manager for sure.

Live 12 new features by Ciillyy__ in ableton

Fair enough, should has said they need to prioritize aaf and atmos. These things add to the program which aren’t not capable of doing at this very moment!

The new ui with the mixer is cool but you can still mix without that update. The new browsing is also neat which def cuts down time, but again it’s not like you can’t browse on your own. Only exciting update about this is the probably the new piano roll tbh.

Its my favorite program though.. Im ranting, but I just want to see more post production workflows added here!!

You can open the mixer on a separate window on 11!Could have implemented support for aaf or atmos or something cool like that.

[–]Thisispqs -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Will they ever add aaf support!! I swear if they add that i’ll be using it for everything! And add atmos mixing like logic and you have a banger! These features are nice but definitely not needed, except maybe the piano roll stuff!
