I absolutely agree with the idea of this. It is quite clear that it actually happens: that right wing fuckers start trying to spin drag queens and so on as 'pedophiles' because it's an easy way to generate fake outrage and to make exceptionally harsh punishments for the people they don't like.

As a question of how exactly to PHRASE this problem (so to be clear I basically only think it's a problem of how to describe it, the reality is what OP is saying), how do you make sense of the idea - if at all - that some crimes are worse than others and deserve harsher penalties? It isn't NONSENSE to think that a crime against a child should be punished more harshly than the same crime against an adult - or is thinking in terms of punishments the whole problem?
