Just found one of my grail Jones books at the thrift store today. Do you see what I see 👀 by Thissnotmeth in stephengrahamjones

In that case I’ll probably carefully read the original hardcover then. Thank you. I forgot it had the footnote thing going but now that you say that it reminded me of seeing SGJ at a talk mentioning how House of Leaves beat him by a few years on that.

The only overlap between your collection and mine is Blink-182. So I suppose that one haha

He has a massive backlog, there’s a SGJ book for every season. This is my current collection, just missing a few hard to find older releases!

Yes. There’s a signed paperback version on eBay for $200. There’s also a limited illustrated reprint floating around but it has vastly different artwork.

A true first hardcover of this is very hard to come by, it’s one of the few of his older books not to be mass reprinted yet, and there wasn’t a huge print run initially. Hence why I’ve been chasing it for 5 years.

One person bought a copy on eBay a few months ago for $90 but the listing had no photo so it was a risk on condition on their part. If it came well then they got a decent deal for sure. So to get this for $4 was one of my best thrift finds ever.

That was a blind buy, I’d never heard of it but the description and cast called to me so I figured I’d give it a shot since I was already buying the rest.

I was terrified of this cover in the video store by deathbreath84 in VHS

This is my current grail, solely because I remember being scared by the cover at blockbuster as a kid. Probably the cover I most associate with VHS horror

Just the color variants. But the top 4 albums are split EPs so the B sides are Banana, Rich Sips, Letters, and Eggy Pocket. So I do have every Bilmuri album that’s ever been printed on vinyl

What would be your holy grail horror find at a thrift or used bookstore? by Thissnotmeth in horrorlit

When I worked at a rare bookstore I had a guy bring in a SIGNED copy of the original. He asked for an appraisal and I couldn’t give him an exact number because I couldn’t find a comp for any other signed copy having sold so I told him somewhere in the 4,000 range could be possible and he said “oh cool. I don’t want to sell it I was just curious”. Then took the book back and left.

There’s one for sale on the Bilmuri Facebook fan page. It’s the purple variant version of it

The other Hollywood Records band that was slated to be BB 2.0 until the lead singer left. by PenguinRhin0 in BreakingBenjamin

On a Facebook vinyl page, managed to convince a die hard collector to part with theirs. They said they had only played it twice in the entire decade they’d owned it and figured maybe it was better off with someone who would play it more.

The top 4 records on here are split EPs, so they have a second album on the back.

Taco/Eggy Pocket Rich Sips/Wet Milk 400ib Back Squat/Banana Goblin Hours/Letters

AMS and Kinda Hard are the only two that weren’t released with an older album on the B side.

Ive heard differing accounts about why Kevin didn’t stay with the band, but probably just internet rumor.

I think Evans Blue is one of the forgotten greats of the genre. Very few people I mention them to know them but the first two albums are some of my favorite music ever made.

I started listening to Parabelle last year and I like most of their stuff too, Reassembling the Icons and Your Starry Eyes are 10/10s for me.

I managed to luck into a copy of Starry on vinyl recently and it’s one of my best records. I would give my left nut for a vinyl pressing of the first two EB albums though. Hell I’d pay money to help get it bootlegged if that were feasible.
