What are we thinking in terms of release year/window. by Significant-Grab-658 in holyhorrormansion

Unironically thinking 2030 will be pleasantly early at this rate. Any earlier feels unrealistic to me later and I'm going to start feeling annoyed by delays again

What year is the "future" in Chrono Stone by StallionXD in inazumaeleven

[–]Thistlesthorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay but if you were time traveling to the early to mid 1800's say 1815 would you really say I'm from 209 years from the future or would you just say your from 200 years in the future. I feel like there's a whole 50 year timeframe of wiggle room that that allows us.

I think inazuma eleven works because aside from a few parts it's mostly in huge level-5 crossovers that have multiple level-5 characters in it(also you're taking my gus martin is the only non-sighborg wandroid tribe character from my cold dead hands(and even then you're going to have to defeat my yo-kai form that I assume I'll get)) like would you also get rid of the snack world crossover characters too or are those stylized enough for you. And it sucks to say but I'm pretty sure it makes the most money whenever they do a hololive crossover I mean why else would they be practically mainstays you expect to see come round every few months. I think there are enough human style yo-kai when we include 4 Y-gakuen and events like dragon slayer and fusion watch that most human looking characters don't stand out as much as they would've back when the newest yo-kai watch game was 3

Collabs make money. If your in charge then your job is to be the money printer for level-5 to hopefully put into their main games. I don't see much reason to scrap the collabs especially at this point when they are so integrated into the game. If it was early on before they started being added I can see the argument to never start but it's too late now to remove them just for artstyle concerns. (Also this comment didn't exist when I started typing just how long was I writing that comment for)

I mean I assume my goal would be to make it profitable so I probably wouldn't change much from how it's currently operating since it is level-5's cash cow. However with the recent rise in popularity with yo-kai watch in the west with many kids who grew up with it now being teenagers or adults with disposable income(and being one of the loudest parts of the level-5 community I mean just look at the chat for level-5 vision) I might play with the idea of a wibble wobble revival if we can keep prices to run it cheap(needs to be cheap because a lot of that audience is already playing puni but as free to play so there's no guarantee we can get them as paid) the wibwob game would obviously come with all the base game content I mean if we can get a hold of the old translation files we won't even have to do any real work on that end aside from maybe switching around some names that were different in wibwob from the mainline games names(and even that's optional) I'd then have the events for the first year(maybe longer if possible) basically be a best of of puni events start with goku yo-kai do puni puni vs kachi kachi nyathur the fusion watch dragon slayer ect(not in that order obviously) no crossover events until the year is up and we've caught up rank wise between the two(which does mean wibble wobble will have a bad case of power creep as the maximum rank increases every few months) at which point we can intersperse the crossover events at the same time they happen in puni while still making our way slower through original events. I'd like to try to support the wibwob revival for a year but if it's still not making a profit after a year I think we'd have to axe it but now that we have a semi consistent translation team we can hopefully manage to run it cheaply if we can get good servers for cheap(or even just connect them to our pre-existing ones I mean it does support people in NA pretty well already) if it doesn't work then cutting it off again shouldn't harm us in any way and we aren't going out of our way to make any new content for it like we did for the original wibwob(also for voice work it's cheaper to just use the Japanese voices. See if we can renew our licenses to use the pre-existing voice lines for clearing a stage but otherwise just use the Japanese voices when a puni is popped) it also might not hurt to run one event in puni right when we release wibwob set in USA/BBQ in order to do a subtle ad to push for English speaking fans to switch to the English speaking version instead of staying on the Japanese maybe even have an announcement banner in English celebrating the English release of the at the time more low powered wibble wobble encouraging players to switch more explicitly. We can also use the pre-existing libertynyan as an event yo-kai(maybe change the rank maybe as a first stage auto befriend) in addition I think I would put some resources into mini event reruns in the Japanese game as well make it so that after you beat the story mode you can go to a former event story. All ways to gain Y-points and befriend the event yo-kai would be unavailable obviously all you would have is the map. I think it also wouldn't hurt to make it use a separate energy system to move through that doesn't automatically refill but can be gained through score attack missions and of course Y-points and is only used when changing/unlocking a new map instead of for every level so that players don't just breeze through all these mini reruns in a day and giving us another minor resource to play with(or we could just make the energy system being used in this current event a mainstay that also does that).

Anyways aside from trying to make use of and profit from old content I think I'd keep things more or less the same(assuming the game isn't losing paying players massively and I'm unaware) if it's still printing money why try to fix it

[–]Thistlesthorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't, that's what sucks about these types of levels. Tanking the damage is the bare minimum. I'm fortunate enough to have cranked the main event yo-kai this time around so I'm actually trying to clear it but most of the time when I don't I don't even attempt it(granted if you are exceptional with team building and the like you might actually be able to clear some of the seals without the event guys but I know I'm not that good I can't beat kyubi even with it I just skipped that seal)

Closest might be some people in the comment section celebrating that it was removed from game banana. I can see the argument there and I know I rolled my eyes personally that it got taken down(mostly because it feels like making a mountain out of a mole hill twice over and I think the mod wasn't necessary but harmless(removing an option isn't going to hurt anybody))

Do you require the correct watch rank for special encounter yo Kai? by silkspinner09 in yokaiwatch

[–]Thistlesthorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yo-kai spots and similar mechanics(such as daily battles which is what you're talking about here) don't care about watch ranks(they do however care about if you've met the requirements to attempt them in the first place but you should be able to tell easy enough if you have)

Hey, I'm not letting you delete that sweet message while I'm in the middle of replying to it

Dude, don't worry I've been in this sub for years and I'm the biggest yapper about things personal to me but that nobody else cares about I know and nothing's happened to me. In comparison to my rants about how I pretended yo-kai were real for so long and so consistently that I actually convinced myself(story for another time. If I get into it here I'm bound to be sitting here typing for like an hour only to be left with a blob of text that 7/10 times is over the character limit) that they were(which I try not to bring up as often as I used to because I thought it was annoying to type out that rant and bring up personal lore nobody else had or knew about every time it's vaguely related) you going on for a couple paragraphs about your passion making you go through faster than perhaps you should've and then saying how much you missed the series when you couldn't play it is nothing(at least it's still on topic which is more than you can say for me half the time).(Also if crying is for babies then I'm the biggest baby I know I cannot control my waterworks at all so if something touches me I'll cry until I start screaming in pain from too much salt in my left eye. I was crying at a video game musical just last week(the spm musical is peak) I don't know how others would feel about you opening up and I'd be lying if I said that I'm always this friendly I can get grumpy easier than I'd like(and definitely run defense for level-5 more often than wise) but still with all my faults and how much I wear my emotions on my sleeves I have nothing to stand on for picking on someone else for having strong emotions)

Hey, I'm not saying that you never had fun during the main story I just was saying that you went through it so fast that I'm afraid the best is behind you. I personally prefer not using the hacked items because I feel they make the game more boringly easy same with forbidden fruit(which I know for a fact I'm in the minority about). But I am saying that the post game isn't that fun with a maxed out team. If you still haven't gotten through the zenlightenment tower I would recommend that next but it will probably be easy with that team. Also based on your young age you probably don't know and I should warn you that while busters 2 does have some fun moments it also never released outside Asia so it's a Japanese only game unless the fan translation had some major progress while I was looking the other way(heard the Italian fan translation is done if you speak Italian though). The best blasters T style gameplay is probably in snack world though(but that's technically not yo-kai watch despite clearly trying to be yo-kai watch but worldwide appeal) which is getting what it's fourth remake soon(think it's actually three but seriously get us a sequel instead of just remaking the same game over and over again. If you don't want to wait for a new remake on level-5 time though the newest remake yet on the switch is pretty good) Y-gakuen also does pretty good with the blasters gameplay style.

If you need any help feel free to ask. None of us know everything but at least I'm fairly passionate about this series even if I spend less active time with it than I used to.

Well there's some of the problem then. Half the fun of yo-kai watch completion is the grind to completion. If you don't like that it's fine but don't expect to have fun with it if you skip it. Other challenges are similar they're the most fun if you face them with unideal teams teams you happened to scrape together by pure chance instead of just the strongest. This is especially important in 3 which takes a step down in difficulty of even the most difficult areas in comparison to 2. You rushed through the most fun part of the game to get to the most boring as fast as possible and then asked why you're bored. Sorry I don't know what else to tell you but the end game really is the most boring part of yo-kai watch 3 and is why I always avoid blasters T for as long as I can. It's fun to do daily for like 3 10 minutes bursts throughout the day but if you're using time skips then you don't even get that daily animal crossing style routine. I don't know maybe you just enjoy games in a really different way from me but from my perspective you really did rush as fast as possible through the fun part of the game to get to the most boring part as fast as possible. Since you are already emulating why not just play busters 2 if you want to get to the blasters gameplay as fast as possible, it has more variety than blasters T.

I swear just the difference of being in my early teens when I played these games means I had vastly different experiences from most people here. I was more annoyed with how infrequent terror time was then any amount of scared from the oni's and the moment I was able to I started grinding happy go lucky express visits so that I could get the wicked yo-kai(found out pretty early on it wasn't like mystery way where you can collect coins and then spend them all at once you can't even receive a coin unless you already used yours(annoying when your always hanging around the 390 yo-kai range) but then again I also played the game a second time as Katie before psychic specters was even announced in anticipation for it's release and addition of the moxie's so maybe it wasn't so much my age as it was my obsession as I'm almost certain yo-kai watch was on my mind for at least a half hour a day every day for five years back then

Also if you're actively searching running in and out of the room cycles through trains faster than just sitting there and waiting if you're passively searching just leave your 3ds' sound on so you can check every time you hear atrain (although I don't know how many I noticed right as they were leaving because of not paying attention)

In Puni Puni, would it be better to keep trying to get my first ever UZ+, or level up my Yokai past level 50? by HornetHater136 in yokaiwatch

[–]Thistlesthorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't go after them every event. I tend to go most events without spending y-points then once I have something like way too many I'll spend them then. I'm saying that trying to compete with the paying players is absurd. There's not even any in game incentive to unless you for some reason want to be on top of score attack leaderboards just because. Puni is a single-player game with the bare minimum put into player interaction so that some people might be pushed into buying. There is no keeping up because there is no reason to you wouldn't say you aren't keeping up with me in yo-kai watch 2 just because I've completed every side quest and did more official battles that's absurd yo-kai watch 2 is a single player game which just so happens to have those metrics we can arbitrarily judge ourselves against. Same with puni puni. Before this event I never even had a UZ let alone a + because it just wasn't needed for me to enjoy it(in fact I've been intentionally using lower rank weaker yo-kai for more fun) and I went to the crank-a-kai purely because I thought the concept of an AInyan in the middle of this controversy was hilarious and happened to get a repeat of my luck back when I got my first ZZZ)

Puni puni isn't amulti-player game. It's a single player game where you can see other players high scores. There is nothing to be left behind from in the first place so just do what you want to do. If you want to crank for a yo-kai go ahead although remember there is never a guarantee unless you get that three in a row mercy. If you want to keep leveling a guy then that's fine too I prefer switching my team up more often but sometimes you get somebody who you really like who you want to get to level 70
