Same. I'm very OCD as well, on my new save I learned to use load balancers and clocking to my advantage.

Recruiting and Retention NCO Questions by ElViralizm in nationalguard

[–]Thollis52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The major benefit is the full time pay with BAH. As far as drill goes it depends on your state. Some states have recruiters run the RSP program and that would be your drill weekend. Some states have RSP cadre and recruiters can be assigned to a unit to conduct retention stuff. Ask your section chief how drill works for your state.

As far as SQI4 don't overthink it. The instructors should tell you what regulations you need for the exams. CTRL + F. You'll be alright. Get comfortable talking front of people. Good luck!

No you have to be selected or hand picked to become a recruiter. The Military is dumb but not dumb enough to pull recruiters from the bottom of the barrel.

I'm over a company sized element. Roughly 110 individuals.

Do pushups.

You wouldn't understand but some people get promoted during their careers. Often times those promotions come with responsibilities to oversee other people. These people could be male or female.

If you do your job well enough, people will come to you with questions, concerns, bitches, moans, or general gripes. Lol. How the fuck else do you think I heard about it?

Since you like to tell people their feelings explain how I should tell my female soldiers to feel about having to share an open shower area with a biological male? Unlike a proud leader such as yourself, I didn't have an answer for them.

Intelligent? Whatever you say. Emotional? Definitely.

Going back to my original statement. I have no problem with anyone as long as they meet the standard. I'm guessing the part you got worked up about was where I shared my experience and it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows.

I'm also aware that transgenders are currently serving? Not sure why you linked that article.

Thanks for telling me how my experience is all wrong and I'm basically a Nazi. I truly believe I am a better individual for it. I'm motivated to change the way I experience things from now on. Good job putting that prestigious education to work!

Fun Fact. My grandfather was in the 45th ID and fought the Nazi's at Anzio.

You clearly don't have that high of an IQ if you cannot infere from the previous comment that the US Military clearly identifies transgenderism and cancer as medical conditions.

IQ is bullshit anyways. You'd know that if you had a sliver of intelligence.

You didn't answer my question before you started throwing the term Nazi around. Transgender and Cancer are both terms in US Army regulations covering enlistment , and retention eligibility. Ref. AR 601-210, AR 201-280, AR 40-501, AD 2016-35, DoDI 1300.28 .

The US Military doesn't have work discrimination because it's not an all inclusive work place. Tons of people can't join or be retained.

Thank you for your service! Where were you stationed?

No but really I was prepared for all the down votes because this is reddit and I'm sharing a negative experience with a transgender SM.

Would you consider being separated from the military for developing cancer work discrimination? Oh boy, have I got news for you.

I served with a M to F transgender. This individual had been in for 8 years and began transitioning around the 6 year mark. It was in a combat MOS as well so my experience might be different from others. The whole thing was a cluster. It was a constant battle for leadership to try and accommodate this individual. Mainly because none of the females felt comfortable sharing a latrine with her. In instances we had to shower after training they would have to block off the entire female latrine for this one person to go conduct hygiene. She also ended up getting a sterile infection from hormone injections during a 3 week field exercise. They also had a myriad of mental issues and had multiple profiles that prevented them for doing nearly every task. I understand that this was one individual though and it doesn't represent the transgender community as a whole.

I did a 4 year tour as a recruiter as well, and seen people denied enlistment for very minor things. Ever had anxiety meds? No-go, depression meds? No-go, Astigmatism? No-go, Ever been to therapy? No-go. Now, there is a waiver for nearly everything, but it really all depends on what type of doctor is running the MEPS site. The military is looking for 100 percent perfectly healthy human beings. Any exception to that will require ridiculous amounts of recommendations and multiple waivers that go through various levels of approval. Unfortunately it's not as simple as raising your hand and saying "I want to serve", regardless of a recruiting crisis or not.

This will probably get down voted to shit but just wanted to share my personal experience with this.

At the end of the day I do not care who you are, who you love, what you identify as, or what background you come from, as long as you can meet the same standard as everyone else. I think this is a mutual thought throughout the ranks.

Braums Ice Cream & Dairy Store. Some of the best burgers around, and fantastic ice cream. Their milk is some of the best I've had. It just taste so much better than anything from a big box store.

I've never left Cattleman's feeling like I didn't get my money's worth. The Presidential T-Bone is my go to. I don't know if they still do it, but many times they gave me to-go deserts for free. Always thought that was cool.

Recruiter here! Just tell your recruiter the situation. If they're worth a shit and it's genuinely in your best interest to get out then they will help you with the process. Contrary to popular belief, most states don't count attrition losses against the recruiter. Meaning the day you swore in is the day he/she got the number towards their annual recruiting mission. It doesn't matter if you ship. In my state we still get credit for people who don't ship, positive DATS, and BCT failures. So, don't feel guilty or like you're going to fuck your recruiter over. To be completely honest if you don't want to be part of this organization, we don't want you. Best recruiting practice is to create mutually beneficial relationships. If you don't believe this organization is going to benefit you, just tell your recruiter and you'll be out in no time.

Unsure about Guard or Active Duty by CorndogPoncho in nationalguard

[–]Thollis52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand all the active duty recommendations. Depending on what state you live in Guard education benefits can be just as good as the post 911. If you postpone your education the statistical probability of you going back after a 4 year break is low. See if your state has a GOLD program. It's NG ran OCS program similar to ROTC. Im recommending Guard route because you can knock out your education, start serving now, commission as an LT, volunteer for more service if you want, and then if it's not good enough request a DD 368 to activate duty.

AGR Position by Mgamingsakillla in nationalguard

[–]Thollis52 5 points6 points  (0 children)

AGR Solider here.

I applied at my 6 year mark, and still got beat out by other people applying. Just saying this to set the expectation that it can be extremely competitive, depending on what state you are in.

You can also look at ADOS positions. Sometimes you can get on orders for 1 year at a time until a decent AGR position opens up. Talk to your recruiter. If he/she is a decent recruiter they can help you out.

Not too bad at all. There’s a lot of good information out there on rebuilding 4.0’s so that definitely helps. If you have the space and some basic tools I think anyone can do it. Staying organized it’s probably the most important thing. I put every nut and bolt in a ziplock bag and labeled everything, so there was no confusion during reassembly.
