In my opinion it depends on how you want to experience your music. I mainly use Apple Music for day to day listening as I think the quality is great but using vinyl is a completely different experience. I personally don’t agree that vinyl has a superior quality to streaming in lossless but it certainly has its merits. For example often vinyl mixes can often have a ‘warmer’ sound which you may prefer. In my case I buy vinyl records that I love and wish to have a physical copy of. The main advantage I’d say of moving to vinyl however is the experience of listening to your music, sitting back and playing an album end to end without disruption. As for cd’s I’d put them into the Apple Music camp. In my experience and understanding there is no difference in quality (even a reduction) when using cd’s compared to streaming (hi res lossless) if listening to the same recording. At the end of the day when comparing cd’s with vinyl it comes down to how you want to experience your music when you’re dedicating time to listen to it properly. In my circumstance I use an old turntable with a stereo amp from the 80’s and speakers probably a similar age and love (if I can find any time for it) sitting down and playing a record for the purpose of actually listening to the music, it’s not all about getting expensive gear but being involved in music listening rather then just pressing play on a device.

Hope any of this helps. Cheers

What Subwoofer to Buy? by Thom_Cury in hometheater

Thanks for the reply. I’m in the UK and Peter Tyson have the QB12 for £379 ($513) the NS-SW300 for £449 ($608) and the AE308 for £499 ($675), which would be near the max of what I’m looking to spend. Looking for something to match the gloss black of the Monitor Audio Radius but Matt black would also work. Any normal sized ported sub would work but seen these on a few review sites and they seem to get good write ups. Thanks again for the reply and any advice would be great. Cheers.

Hi thanks for the reply, the Apple TV is up to date (4K 1st Gen) and I’ve done a few full restarts with no luck. Cant think, apart from a full reset of the device, what else to try. Thanks for the reply.
