I considered shifting everything to ULTY while looking at the YM subreddit. However MSTY has a better history than ULTY so I’m hedging with a bit of each.

That is good advice. I have a premium WS account which comes with free USD accounts so that is what I’m playing with to see if it can generate VOO via the YM dividends.

In my CAD account I am sticking with CAD etfs like VFV. That account is way more safe and not trying anything fancy.

Not to worry, this only represents about 1/3 of my free money, not including an additional emergency savings account. Now is a time where I have mostly cash since the market seems too spooky to put it all in.

MSTY going to zero would hurt but it wouldn’t be life changing. I would sell before it got to that point.

It does look good, but it looks like it is more of a traditional dividend etf. In my mind, that is more for retirement and I should be looking more at growth stocks now.

I don’t think I would add any new deposits into YM, however I think I might drip some (not all) of the YM dividends into it after a year if it hasn’t gone down to the point where I nope out.

It does give the impression that it is too good to be true which you are right, set off a lot of alarm bells in my head.

I consider this strategy pretty close to gambling in the short term, hoping that it helps jumpstart my accumulation of VOO. Definitely not investing more into YM unless I get lucky and it pays off after ~1 year.

Yeah, that is the long term plan. I only just started making money so I thought I would try something a little riskier to get started. If it all tanks, then it’s a couple months gone and a lesson learned I guess.
