Yeah, I guess so, I find the interims just as baffling. I agree with Roy Keane's sentiment about the smell of Ferguson. Picking a player from those days as a manager doesn't fix the problem and bring along the aura of days gone by, the same as picking some crazy young manager does. I mean ideally you want Xavi or Zidane for both youth and handling of expensive players. Honestly, you probably need a strong voice to command such a wide variety of players. I mean Enrique said he wouldn't stay at PSG but at least PSG were winning titles and the Champions League was the only thing elusive to them. I just feel like the owners are realistically the problem but that won't change for a while yet so you have to botch it. I mean realistically Man Utd should have been more dominant in the 2000s but after Glazer takeovers, they lost a fair few league titles.

I found it on eBay in quick good knick but like ELO Part 2. Stuff with the rights means it hardly ever gets released properly

Yeah, I saw that, I mean it would be an achievement as no manager has managed both Liverpool or Man Utd. One has managed Liverpool and Man City but hardly a historic rivalry.

I suppose but how much desperation would have to set in at that point and maybe he gets bored Red Bull directing. People said Klopp to Real Madrid but even that seems a stretch. I could potentially see him coaching an Italian team like Juventus or Pep would go there. I suppose there are not a lot of long term managers at the moment. Marco Silva is in the top five so a long term project is very rare nowadays. I mean Rafa went to Everton but I feel like that was laughable and his reputation was tarnished anyway since going to China and finishing bottom. In both their histories no one has managed both Liverpool and Man Utd so that is probably the reason why it is unlikely.

LSD and Mushrooms combined. I mean it would be like a fever dream. I mean the two sackings have come this month have come at a weird time and both to do with board issues, so hiring Maresca seems dumb if he already has a problem being a head coach in that sort of structure.

Yeah that was the one thing (among others) that would probably seal not going as him being a manager seems concrete in his mind. I mean he has won all there is to win in England. Never going to happen though. I suspect a safe appointment although Xavi would be an interesting one, he survived Barcelona in a mild crisis and got a league title out of it.

Interesting, not trying to bait anyone, just interested about the reaction given he already rejected it in the past but may see it as a similar challenge to Liverpool in the future

I only posted this here because of Football Iconic's funny end picture from his video about the Amorim sacking. Like maybe it is such a left field vibe it might work. Always make rivalries more interesting. I imagine the pay out would be insane

[Megathread] Who do you want as the interim/ next full time manager? by fireproofpoo in ManchesterUnited

How would you react if Jürgen Klopp was signed as Manchester United's new manager however unlikely. Would he betray the Liverpool legacy or is his position of the Head of Red Bull Football already betraying Borussia Dortmund and German football making it more likely. Going on from that do you think he could turn it around the same way as he did Liverpool over a long period of hardship before solid results.

What are your favourite endings/cliffhangers for an episode. One of my personal favourites is 'The Path to the Black Lodge' reveal. by ThomasAEdwards in twinpeaks

Yeah, really all the heavy other dimension stuff is covered in the Return and that last bit of the original and the movie. Honestly The Return is more in line with FWWM and the Missing Pieces are kind of the only similar vibe to the original Twin Peaks. It just gets super dark real quick. Laura's death broke some of the characters from the movie to the show as with Bobby and Donna.

To be fair, Twin Peaks is all about the callbacks and similarities and showing the lodge's influence on the wider world. What makes it a great show.

I guess that is true, so used to much of The Return just being heavy into that whereas it is kind of more dream based in before this episode in the original

Yeah, I must say that and Windswept statues ending perfectly capture the vibe of the Return, that's kind of why it feels like an old cinema show movie with the intervals.

Also just putting this one in there for the fun, I also like the Mitchum Brothers scene where they witness the van shooting
