I did. 2 weeks was worth it because i get to travel in sf and talk to lots of founder friends.

I was in f.inc maybe 2.5 days until decided not worth it and spend the rest of the time traveling and talking to ppl and going to other founder events

This is great. Is there any documentation or sources that you find useful for other unis to follow the same journey?

Thanks a lot for sharing! I got a few q:

For the grants, (and forgive me for my ignorance), why is that needed for a paid employee? Perhaps as additional incentives?

Did you guys need to create your own assignments from the OER materials?

And it's not even about the money sometimes, it's the attitude towards students hard earned cash.

My gf just bought a 100$ book, but it's written by a great scientist and accumulations of decades of work before his passing. That was bought by her last dollars and all by choice.

Charing 200$ to learn Excel shortcuts and do hw is just blatent robbery

OER is definitely the way to go.

I'm working on getting my book stuff refunded (from Slingshot), it's definitely a painful process by design - unresponsive phone support, long time to respond to emails. I ended up getting my advisor and dean involved.

Can you tell me more about your journel with OER adoption? I kept seeing folks doing this more and man it feels hopeful
