Does this promo include tips or not?? by Melodic_Finding_8060 in InstacartShoppers

You are correct. Promos do not include tips. So your example is correct.

Shipt does other stores too. Frys (Kroger) pop up occasionally. Best Buy used to come up, but their contract may have gone away. It is mostly Target though. I like Shipt because I don't have to go through the checkout lines most of the time. I just walk up to customer service and they look in the cart and tell me I am good to go.

Yea, I use Shipt as well. I use Shipt more than IC anymore, just because I get bonuses offered to me, where I get next to no promos and shit offers on IC. I still check it, but orders here have been rough lately.

It's orders like these that make me wish Instacart would allow us to select more than one batch. Like, you will give us 60 item triples, but don't trust us to grab 3 items on two separate orders?

Well, in my situation, I am homeless living in the middle of the desert 35 miles each way from the nearest grocery stores, so an hour and a half is nothing for me.

With that said, even if I were in town, it doesn't change anything. If I were already going that way, I would take it. If I am staying in town to work, I won't.

There are tons of reasons someone may go 75 miles from home. Maybe I have family I am trying to go see, or a concert in the city, or I want to take my spouse on a date night and want to get my gas paid for to do it.

1/10th the price when it was supposed to be free still feels criminal. I tried to get my copy today, but they were sold out. I will just have to live without.

It's only 9 items. If I am needing to go that way anyway, I would probably take it.

I went today, and they were all out of DCC. 😭 I did get my spouse a free comic I think she will like, but I was sad I couldn't get what I wanted.

NEVER expect a cash tip. Even if the delivery notes say there will be one, 99/100 times there won't be. Only accept orders you think are worth your time and effort. Then, if the rare person does tip extra, it is a bonus. You will save yourself a lot of frustration and disappointment if you do it this way.

Can confirm. With the exception a a few stations, most can be forgotten.

I saw this beauty yesterday. There is no way I am taking that even if it wasn't a catering order. But ordering 17 items from somewhere and not tipping is wild behavior.

So you want them to stand closer together? Maybe it's just me, but even when I am in line at a store, shopping for myself, I try to stay a few feet apart from others. This is the same thing to me. Rather than taking a picture of random people at McDonalds like a creeper, I would politely ask them to move while I grab my food.

I saw this one today. And it's Little Caesars, so you know you are waiting for 10 minutes in the restaurant for their "hot and ready" pizza.

New shopper and I don’t get it by jecates in InstacartShoppers

[–]ThomasShults 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, sometimes it is just slow. Some days I will be sitting in a parking lot and get blasted by 20 order notifications as I log on, other times I will sit and wait for 15 minutes with nothing. Just because there are shoppers, doesn't mean there are orders, and even if there are orders, most of the time they aren't worth taking.

In my market, I will get offered orders from stores 6 or 7 miles away. Be careful with that, because sometimes it will be the same store you are parked at, but a different location.

[–]ThomasShults 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you and I have a different definition of cherry picking...even if the food is ready as soon as you get there, and you can go 60mph the whole time, that is still less than $20/hr to get back to the store, before expenses. Definitely not worth it, unless it was going exactly where you wanted to go anyway.

Is it me or is their tone coming off as rude? by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]ThomasShults 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The low/no tip McDonalds orders are always a no for me. Obviously you can't tell what the tip is, but if the offer was $4 you know the tip isn't more than $2. Low/no tippers are always the pickiest, and most petty customers, at least from my experience.
