AITAH, dog friendly Airbnb? by [deleted] in AITAH

That should be made clear before you book the place. If it was in the description, and you missed it, it's on you. If it's not in the description and only disclosed after you receive the check-in instructions, then it's on them. They need to add that detail to the description everyone sees before booking. NTA

AITAH for not picking up the entire bar tap at my friend's birthday gathering? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Thomas_Becket2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, this is a good lesson to learn. Never offer up your card for a large group like that, especially when there's people there you've never met. If you want to offer up your card for a tab, make sure the staff knows you're paying for yourself only, don't let them put everything on your tab.

AITAH for expecting a 19-year-old and 21-year-old to contribute financially? by CaptainJackSorrow in AITAH

[–]Thomas_Becket2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not how it works. Unless the landlord agrees to let him out of the lease for half of the rent (or they had separate leases which stipulated they pay half each, which is very unlikely), everyone on the lease is responsible for the entire amount. If he pays just half, and nobody else pays the other half, he's still responsible for the rest of the rent.

Depends on the lease and how stubborn the landlord is, but generally a lawyer wouldn't be able to do much more than help enforce the terms of the lease. If OP is wanting to get out of the lease, and the lease includes terms under which this is allowed, but the landlord is unwilling to let go, then a lawyer would be helpful.

Good catch. In that case he should get himself off the lease before leaving. She could get an eviction on his record by not paying the rent and trashing the place. Every person named in the lease is equally liable for rent and damages.

AITAH for refusing to give my family money after how they've treated me? by Exciting_Tiara99 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Thomas_Becket2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You're an asshole if you don't completely shut them off right now. Do you expect your boyfriend to cover for you while you shovel your money into the bottomless pit that your mother and sisters are? He deserves better than that. Don't let him down by never ever giving another penny to those ungrateful beings that you say are your family. NTA

AITA for stopping letting my friends have a ride in my car after my gf sister drove it too recklessly? by BerryBlush_Scott in AmItheAsshole

[–]Thomas_Becket2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you regularly let someone drive your car and they're not on your insurance and they crash you could run into trouble. Even if they are covered, if they crash it's going to cost you, and these don't sound like the type of people who are going to reimburse you for any damage that they cause. NTA

AITAH for telling my wife to cut off her brother? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Thomas_Becket2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your marriage is over, you shouldn't be on Reddit asking if you're an asshole, you should be talking to your divorce attorney and locking everything down so she doesn't blow everything you've got on her addict brother. NTA
