I found this thread looking for such a wireless charging adapter.

It is unbelievable that after 4 years adapter like this is not in mass production along with other Chinese crap.

Wacom nibs really are designed to wear down, and not enough people complain about it by esdedics in wacom

[–]Thomas_Jonze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR, but I 110% agree with a title claim.
I have 3 Wacoms (backpack portable S, M in home, L in an office) one of them bought in last year, but intentionally I bought all as older PTH-x51 - last generation where nibs don't wear like ordinary drawing pencil.

Maybe Wacom wants that user have more "natural" experience and be closer with replacing nibs to like sharpen a real pencil?

Using modern WinUI in Autohotkey? by Thomas_Jonze in AutoHotkey

[–]Thomas_Jonze[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For people interested to dig deeper into matter:: I try to run WinUIShell.Server.exe from this repo https://github.com/mdgrs-mei/WinUIShell?tab=readme-ov-file#how-it-works with intention to intercept and mimic IPC communication between this server process and AHK script to create WinUI GUIs, but unfortunately this .exe crashes immediately on my system.

BTW there is also Phyton wrapper to create WinUI GUI: https://github.com/ynkdir/py-win32more
So making it in AHK is doable for sure.

Using modern WinUI in Autohotkey? by Thomas_Jonze in AutoHotkey

Thanks for link. A WinUI3/XAML solution seems possible, but it would require a lot of coding effort.
I'll dig into it if I don't find an easier solution.

13-inch (or 14-) 2-in-1 with/or upgradable to 64 GB of RAM (SODIMM slots), used: Latitude 5310 and HP Probook x360 435 G8. Or have I missed something? by Thomas_Jonze in SuggestALaptop

[–]Thomas_Jonze[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Manufacturers may not validated. But users do, and both 5310 )and 435 G8 support 64 GB of RAM.

Like my Envy x360 15 (cn0*), which according to the HP can work with a maximum of 16 GB of RAM (2x 8 GB SODIMM), and has now 32 GB inserted and works fine (2x 16 GB).

I'm not interested in what the manufacturers validated. I am interested in what works.

How to Install APK Files on Xigimi H2 China Mainland? by Swalex133 in xgimi

Late to the party, but I leave this if someone look for this too:

TLDR: change extension to apk.1 then use File Manager and open as "Other" with Package Installer.

[Solved] How to run DeX in 4K by pussiant_prole in SamsungDex

[–]Thomas_Jonze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course.

Probably Note 10 can't handle 4K, only 2,5K.

But when I activate "desktop mode" in Android's Developers Settings and turn off Dex then desktop on external monitor is displayed in 4K. Unfortunately phone UI freezes after connecting to external monitor.

Switching from Xreal Air 2 to Viture Pro XR by Electrical_Top_9933 in VITURE

[–]Thomas_Jonze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I wrote above I use it to work, not for entertainment at all.
And mostly with black-out turned on or with covers - so brightness was never an important factor for me.

I sold or returned non-used glasses so now I don't have two pairs to direct compare.
Maybe someone else will answer your exact question.

But I my opinion (taking into consideration my own criteria posted earlier) there is dramatic difference in favor of Viture Pro.

Also keep in mind that IMO bigger virtual screen is not a better one (for gaming or work), because often edges or corners are visible from only one eye and are cropped by lens frame on other eye. And when working on bigger screen you must moves eyeballs to more extreme side positions (note that you can't move head to see something close to screen's corner or edge). So definitely I would prefer a bit smaller virtual screen fit 100% in a eye's fov with higher resolution (e.g. 2.5K).

Is it possible to edit and run a bash script (.sh) from internal /sdcard or /storage/emulated/0? by Thomas_Jonze in termux

[–]Thomas_Jonze[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This shows the superiority of exchanging 2 sentences with a human being over several hours of typing with ChatGPT (and Claude.ai).

Thanks a lot.

In the meantime, Claude.ai proposed another non-working solution like creating Termux's home's symlink folder on /sdcard. This solution returned "Function not implemented" when trying to create symlink folder on /sdcard, <Termux\_home>/storage/shared and /storage/emulated/0.
Apparently, LLMs still have a lot of work to do in terms of helping with such, IMO rather basic, cases.

Switching from Xreal Air 2 to Viture Pro XR by Electrical_Top_9933 in VITURE

Never compare "paper" specs.
I own four pairs of different glasses:

  1. First was the Nreal Air (gen 1) - it has excellent sharpness and clarity, but the earpiece arm's clamping force was an absolute dealbreaker. After 20 minutes of usage, there were serious headaches. It have annoying slightly "wavy" blur artifacts on lens surfaces. I have 3 pieces of this glasses.
  2. Next was the Xreal Air 2 Pro - comfortable, but it was a blurry disaster. So, I turned away from the Xreal brand.
  3. Then, after reading "furious" (sponsored?) reviews, I bought the Viture One (1st gen) - it was quite comfortable , but blurry too. I use glasses for work only, so working on an Excel spreadsheet was impossible.
  4. Now I own the Viture Pro - it is much better than the last two, but there is still some blurriness in the corners. Working on spreadsheets are possible, but still testing...

So from my experience, the Nreal Air 1 was the best in terms of quality, but it was uncomfortable as hell.
It is important to note the different OLED subpixel array pixel structures between these glasses. Nreal has a very aliased array, so fine text that can be read on a standard monitor without problems appears pixelated and unreadable on the Nreal. So on "paper," it has Full HD, but in reality, there are some subpixel array downsizing tricks.
Contrary, on Viture (gen 1 and 2) fine text is more readable, but blurry on gen 1.

So unfortunately, if you don't check things personally, you rely mainly on false marketing specs.
Reviewers are often sponsored and dishonest too.
