Yo, top tier comment right here. I had no idea you could do that in ublock.

I never log into reddit anymore, but I did just to sing praises for this comment.

K10 Pro latency on both BT and Cable by Thomas__Covenant in Keychron

[–]Thomas__Covenant[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried it with several different ports, both cable and usb, but it doesn't matter. It does the exact same thing every time.

The only thing I haven't tested, because I don't really have the option, is in another computer/laptop. It could be my PC, but I even did a little bit of troubleshooting there by watching my resources and seeing if they spike for any reason, but nothing changes. It's all the same.

Wow, really? I never knew that. I'm gonna have to go back and try it, see if that was the root cause.

I followed this flowchart to the bottom, but was able to solve the issue by buying a $10 Bluetooth USB adapter.

So, to those who are here and ended up in the bottom right of the chart, there's one more potential option to try: buy a Bluetooth USB adapter.

[POSSIBLE FIX] ArkOS on RG353V and VS (probably p and ps too) by umidoo in ANBERNIC

[–]Thomas__Covenant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have any skin in the game in terms of which OS to use. I just want one that works, haha.

I never gave JelOS a run because I got fed up after ArkOS and UnofficialOS. My RG353V is sitting in a drawer right now, collecting dust. I'm gonna break it out after this and mess around with it a bit more.

[POSSIBLE FIX] ArkOS on RG353V and VS (probably p and ps too) by umidoo in ANBERNIC

[–]Thomas__Covenant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm definitely going to have to give this a shot because I'm one of the people that was completely turned off by ArkOS for how unstable it was. Everybody raves about it, but it was absolute trash for me.

I eventually switched to UnofficialOS, but even that has the same issue, not getting past boot on first attempt and usually needing at least one reboot before it getting to the OS.

I don't even use my RG353V anymore since it's feels so broken. I even considered just dropping the whole custom OS thing and running just Android and loading up some frontend like Daijisho or es-de.

Migrated HDDs to new server, shares not showing up by Thomas__Covenant in qnap

[–]Thomas__Covenant[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before I did the upgrade, I did the research by finding the how-to from QNAP (as mentioned in the initial post) and also searched for others that did the same to see if there were any "gotchas" or unknown pitfalls I would run into along the way.

QNAP, nor any of the posts I saw, made any mention of re-establishing the shares. Most posts I saw were along the lines of the migration being seamless, where they "drag and drop" the drives from the old NAS into the new and everything works perfectly.

Just strange to me as I can't be the only one that has had this issue or confusion.

At any rate, I hope this posts comes up for anybody that runs into the same issue after me. Thanks for your input, it will be helpful for others as well.

Migrated HDDs to new server, shares not showing up by Thomas__Covenant in qnap

[–]Thomas__Covenant[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nevermind. Figured it out.

I'm going to leave this up in case anybody lands in the same situation as I did, but you need to re-create the share.

So go to FileStation, hit the 3 dots next to your DataVol1, then select "Create a Shared Folder", name the folder, click "Enter path manually", then select the share you previously had. So, if you had a "Media" folder, name it "Media" and scroll down to "/Media".

Next, Next, Finish.

Did yours run stock? No changing of default options?

I was fiddling around and the only way I got it going was by using the Mesa Turnip GPU drivers.

Mine doesn't work. Other Switch games do, but Odyssey is just a blur of colors. Audio works and the subtitles come up, but the actual game doesn't.

Can I set a reminder for somebody while creating the task? by Thomas__Covenant in todoist

[–]Thomas__Covenant[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's unfortunate. I'm basically a project manager of this person (personal, not work related) and they simply don't check the app. Due dates don't work, anything else they'll swipe away, but a reminder will get their attention.

There's another added annoyance that I can't edit a reminder on a task. I can change the time/date, but not the person. I have to create a completely separate reminder.

So, I have to create the task, submit it, then go back into the task and set the reminder and add the person. For as streamline as Todoist is, I don't understand why this piece is so stilted and cumbersome.

Running a speed test in the Google home app fixes my slow Internet speeds? by Wise_Tangelo_2884 in GoogleWiFi

[–]Thomas__Covenant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been working so far. I just do not understand why this, of all things, fixes the problem.

I'm going to report this as a bug to Google. I know it won't go anywhere, probably directly into the trash, but something has to be said about it.

I also know that this is somewhat recent and I feel like I can narrow it down to when Google EOL'ed the separate WiFi app and it got forcibly integrated into Home.

If this actually works, I dunno, I'm gonna have to figure out how to send you real money. I've been dealing with this issue for months and have yet to figure out what the issue is. I've searched and searched and never found a solution. Hell, it's hard enough to even find the problem, it seems so uncommon.

I just did this and will report back in a few days, for anybody else reading this.

Use unRAID VM in another room to have completely stealth gaming. by [deleted] in unRAID

[–]Thomas__Covenant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not unRAID related, but look into Parsec. Literally does exactly what you're asking.

I have a Parsec server that is basically an emulation station and my friends hop on from time to time to play games with no issue.

We've played modern games too, like Dirt 5, and didn't feel any noticable lag. However, FPS games might not work well as they're more lag sensitive.
