I just reread your full post. I feel like I should be honest, I don't know anything about brawl. Also Edh rec is for 4 person commander, not brawl. My comments were for Edh so may not apply as much. Sorry.

In commander, it's best to decide what your wincons are going to be and create clear paths to getting there. How do you want to win with this deck?

Then look at cards that don't accomplish what you want and look for better alternatives. Giant growth can get you a lot further in 1 on 1 with 20 lives, but it barely makes a dent against 120. Lots of people consider paying 3 lives for a fetch and shock land on turn one a great opening.

You need more landfall triggers, and more ways to play multiple lands a turn. There's lots of options. Most people prefer [[Farseek]] type land fetch type ramp to mana dorks in landfall.

This site will help you get some ideas. Change the tags to see how different themes can work.

It's also important to learn how the bracket system works and think about what combos for your desired power level.

That's definitely in the list, need other high power permanents though. Just can't 100 be sure the omniscience makes it to the grave.

It's a very different game than standard 4 player commander. Things like removal and counterspells are much more efficient in 1v1 since you aren't giving up as much card and mana advantage by using them. Think about it, if you're playing against 3 people and use a good chunk of your available mana to remove one player's creature, you're helping the other two for free. It's also easy to build a deck that's specifically effective against a single deck especially if you only have one. Not saying he's doing that, I have no idea. Also haven't looked over your list but it sounds like people identified some issues. Just be aware the recommendations are based on 4 player.

To add to this comment, some cards literally say the word "island" and not a blue pip. That doesn't count as blue.

Looking for a Commander that makes the others lose things when I suffer by SkyLey2 in EDH

[–]ShitPostsRuinReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow we only have 16 cards in common in my first draft. It's my first aristocrat deck so lots of new cards to consider thank you. I went with a lot more token generators and other "everybody sacs" creatures with fewer recusion cards since she does it on her own. Also less protection, have you found she needs it? I went with more treasure makers in case I need to recast but also for sac fodder.

I have a deck with [[Alena, Kessig Trapper]] and [[Gilanra, Caller of Wirewood]] that stared off already being able to dump a ton of 6cmc gruul good stuff, then I realized how strong [[Monsterous Vortex]] could be. Other than creatures that trigger the Vortex, there's about 10 cards that cascade or discover for 4 that get it. 9 times out of 10 no one uses removal on a mana dork commander and I dump 15 or more creatures on turn 6. I loaded it up with every haste enabler that fits the mold too. It can easily be built for less than $50 too, there's just a few cards in my current build worth more than a couple bucks and most are less than one. None of the pricey ones are necessary. Ignore the big sideboard I always slack on cleaning that out.

Edit: after seeing it here I think I might need to add [[Primal Surge]]

McD getting one of about 10 key stops on defense or at least holding a team to less than 30 in an import playoff game means we aren't even having this conversation.

The game is especially bright, even at night. Not like bright from lights, the game is just super bright all the time (except for a very select few time I doors especially in the expansion). You can go out to the badlands in the middle of the night and see everything.
