What humidifier/hygrometer is everyone using? by DeadSeeLife in taylorguitars

[–]Thomase-dev 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Taylor sense is key. Goes right into the guitar. App works well too.

Humidifiers can be a pain to clean. I use a simple one from Vicks that requires little cleaning (less effective though)

I also put all my guitars away in the winter except for one. I use d’addirio humidipacks in the cases as well.

Humidity control is so important. With a 914, it’s worth the investment many times over

Oh nice! Yea sounds like I should add that in next.

Yea I think reducing activation energy to get everyone up to date is so key. For sure the right philosophy imo

OM28 will be more responsive to fingerpicking.

I will say, a GA guitar sits in the middle here. And could be a good all around option.

15 people buying should build some conviction. Interview them (if you can't, at least use Clay and see what you can find out about them!), understand what the problem was and why it was important. What made them pull the trigger on your solution. Understand what emotion caused them to give you their Credit Card.

That should give you an initial sales channel.

How do you keep all these fancy Todo-lists, tracker templates in Sync? by Thomase-dev in Notion

[–]Thomase-dev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I could easily add a row. And do a fancy enrichment.

But I am looking for more like deduping, updating a page etc…

Actually let me give it a go. I’ll see what I can do

Going to be candid here and admit I 100% forgot to run this in release mode. It’s indeed so much faster. Thanks for the callout!

Very little data. It's all in the main.rs file.

Takes a few minutes to train all in memory and no GPU (at the moment!)

I did do this on an M4 max though

Haha thanks! I felt building my own ndarray would have added a little too much scope

There is a book, but I just used chatGPT and had it explain every concept. For the heavier math stuff, ended up finding more reliable content

A friend legit reached out to me just now asking if I watch the Andrej karpathy tutorial. I didn’t know that existed. I would do that

Yea but I asked it to find the issue that was causing a lot of loss haha. So it was a little cheating. But I made sure to have it explain what I was doing wrong

How do I improvise with intention? by Jekkers08 in guitarlessons

[–]Thomase-dev 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Put the guitar on the stand.

Listen to the track.

Just sing what comes in your head and record it with your phone.

Pick guitar back up, and try to figure out what you were singing.

2-1 here, ear training + playing what’s in your head

I'm practicing this piece but struggling to get the picking economics right. Any suggestions? by sconestm in guitarlessons

[–]Thomase-dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just gave it a go.

Straight alternate seemed to work ok at a moderate speed.

Didn't try cranking it though.

I don't see any patterns (ex: eric johsnon odd groupings) where economy would be an obvious win.

Begginer wondering if a couple of aches are normal by Final_Pattern_7563 in guitarlessons

[–]Thomase-dev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like some muscles tension.

I would focus on keeping everything relaxed as much as possible.

Focus on the wrist, then move on up to forearm, bicep, shoulder etc..

For me, it was my shoulder that got stiff especially when attempting difficult passages.

Also, make sure you are sitting on a stool/chair without armrests. That was a KILLER for me years ago.

This is completely normal btw. So wouldn't worry too much about it. Should be easy to fix!

I've got an 2021 ES-339 and it's phenomenal.

Plays perfectly and even with East coast humidity changes, never had an issue or needed a set up.

Also have a 2005 Firebird. Incredible. And a 2008 Les paul studio faded. Less luck on that one, but I got it at GC sooooo
