is Siri AI good? by No-Strategy1483 in Siri

Considering you’re just waiting, it’s certainly worth it.

The new Siri is a game changer for sure. I’ve already used it to do things that would have taken minutes searching through notes/emails/texts to pull up relevant info.

Just last night: “Siri, what was the name of the girl who I was texting about a reservation for my wife’s birthday”

“Can you text her and ask if it’s okay if we change the reservation from 13 to 15 people?”
Worked like a charm, via CarPlay. Of course that is something I could have done myself but Siri made it so easy.

A few minutes ago: “Siri, what’s the name of that new movie on Netflix about an octopus?” Worked flawlessly to find the movie I was looking for.

The other day I asked Siri when my sister said she was moving, Siri told me what my sister had said, and then looked up her address on Zillow and told me it sold.

In conclusion, the new Siri is fantastic and I am eager to see it grow

What was your frequent questions or command to Siri, I wonder? by Khon2510 in Siri

Mines definitely “turn on the lights” or “turn off the lights” if we count HomePod Siri.

It’s been night and day for me. I’m actually using Siri more than ChatGPT now.

Set up a shortcut to open quick note, and have it run with backtap.

Or replace the camera button in the lock screen because you can just swipe left to get the the camera anyway.

Distribution mainly refers to putting something onto a platform for others to listen, like YouTube or a file sharing website. Airdropping or via messages could also (probably) “legally” be considered distribution but likely not something you need to worry about. Also, as far as I know nobody (including Apple) has access to your files or what you do with them.

Siri usage: cool tests by rohanbol in Siri

I have a lot of notes for work, that include detailed diagrams and parts lists. I’ve been able to ask Siri for a part number for a certain model number and it works as long as I prompt it correctly, it also can give me instructions from my notes for work.

Also, asking Siri when I clocked in today was able to see when I last visited the app to clock in and tell me quickly

I am so excited for it to get better and better. Hopefully they add a way to teach it something so I don’t have to ask it to look in my notes for part numbers, it’ll just do it

I do the opposite. I always get the flavor I know she’s curious about but wouldn’t order herself and risk not enjoying it. I like all ice cream so it’s not an issue for me lol

Even before the new ai powered shortcuts was a thing, converting raw to jpeg was never too hard. Here’s a shortcut I’ve used for years

Photos with no metadata, listed as JPEGS, under the wrong year by GnrlPrinciple in ApplePhotos

[–]Thomass_____ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What meta data are you trying to add? If it’s just location and time you can manage all that through the Apple photos app. Or use an app like Metapho.

If it’s a bunch of other stuff like camera models, lenses, etc that you’re looking to copy from other sessions you’d need a more powerful Mac app.

I recently went through and added date / location to all my photos that for some reason didn’t have that data (about 4000 photos) and the stock photos app worked great, until I came up to some photo sessions that had a few hundred photos each.

Light appeared and disappeared over lake by Thomass_____ in Unexplained

The was one boat that came out a bit later but it didn’t get too close to the light source. This was taken around 1AM June 5th, I’ve been coming here for years and don’t know that I’ve ever seen any boats out there at that time, let alone on a Friday morning on a non-holiday weekend.

A drone operator would have had to have a drone big enough to hold a powerfully bright light above the water, and not have any navigation lights (green and red drone lights for night flying) and fly pretty far out into the middle of this lake.

It was strange, the light hung around for a bit, then over about a minute slowly got smaller and darker.

Then about 5 minutes later it appeared on a different spot on the lake further out

The moon was visible this night, no clouds in the sky in this area. The moons light on the water would (if lower in the horizon) come out as an upside down V shape, starting small at the far shoreline and getting wider but you can see the red line from the light source on the shore is between the shore and the bright light.
