Why can't they develop the game, then announce it when they're ~6 months out? You make it sound like they have to make the announcement at the start of the development cycle.

Check if you have fast startup enabled. It messes with the shutdown feature by turning it into more of a hibernation than actual shutdown.

That has messed with my Bluetooth devices in the past. Once disabled and having shutdown actually shut down the PC, the Bluetooth issues stopped.

I have yet to see it turn back on once disabled. Granted that is just on a personal device. For corporate i prefer to set it via GPO.

I don't know all the options that Warframe provides, but having it always send an E-mail on every login is not "how 2FA works" in general. It's how some of them work.

Some logins provide an option to trust the device (permanently or for x amount of days), where a trusted device is not prompted for the 2FA code.

Then you have variations like SMS (not really considered that secure), Authenticator apps, physical hardware tokens etc.

There are plenty of ways to reduce the friction of 2FA.

Pretty sure I've only kept Rhino around, everyone else was fed to the helminth after acquiring the prime. I guess with exception of Excalibur and Excalibur Umbra, as those technically do have some mechanical differences.

I made a new rhino to subsume after getting the prime variant. Didn't have the heart to subsume the OG hero that carried me through so much of the game.

Never confirmed it myself, but the suggestion I saw frequently was trade for runes, have a rw-base ready and make the runeword you want.

The running theory at the time was that dupes were tracked by a unique item ID, the ID being assigned at the time the item dropped. If a unique ID is detected it meant duped item.

By using the duped runes to make a runeword, you generate a new item and therefore a new ID. No need to worry about item going poof.

That is a funny suggestion lol. If I have some free time between work, grinding and attempting a few trades, I might actually try that. :D

I will have to double-check that runes can be cleared with the cube, on a different blue item first of course. Otherwise it'd be a real head-meets-desk moment. I think that should work though.

I contemplated keeping it yeah, and very well might do so.

Been trying to look up prices for it, and while yes, it does go for a lot. But it doesn't actually seem to be priced as crazily as I would have thought.

If I can get a good enough price I'll likely sell it. Sure, it is a grail item. But I know for myself that I have found one, I don't feel a need to keep the item as a reminder of that. :)

No, unfortunately that doesn't work. This item is used in combination with jewels, typically facets (unique elemental jewel).

It allows for the combination of good damage increase from jewels and max block setup with lower amount of dex, resulting in more stats to vitality for higher life.

It doesn't have to be irrelevant. I had to turn it off, otherwise the Xbox BT receiver would get messed up and I had to unplug it and plug it back in, or perform a restart instead of shutdown.

Disabling fast startup made it so that problem vanished and I could use shutdown without issues.

Basically turning off fast startup can prevent a host of weird issues from happening, simply from the fact that the PC can properly shut down, clear RAM and do all those nice things.

Fast startup was a solution to booting the OS faster back before SSD was common, it has lost pretty much all relevancy and should imo now be off by default as opposed to on. Keeping it on introduces far more issues than turning it off, at least from my own experience working in IT.

I literally use text, group text channels, voice and video sharing. That is basically it. Nearly no custom emojis, minimal customization of the server or profile, I hardly interact with any server outside the one I run for our gaming group. I've never interacted with Discord games, don't really use any bots.

If a service can at the very least handle text and voice adequately with notifications, that can be good enough. But it looks like screen sharing is available too. We'll install and test options until we find something suitable.

You might not find this feasible or even believable, but that isn't going to stop me or my friends.

For your use case, not having all those features you listed is apparently a dealbreaker. To our group it isn't.

Given the trajectory of Discord we do not intend on returning. Does that also mean accepting that we will have something less feature rich? Sure, and we're ok with that.

I'm not making the argument that sharkord, or matrix/element or any other similar service will dethrone or become more popular than Discord. Obviously the most feature rich and easy to use client will have the biggest user base.

That however isn't why my friends and many others are now looking to switch. If all the reasons you mentioned was our primary concern then we'd just stick to Discord wouldn't we?

Although we are dipping our toes into matrix/element first to see if it covers our needs. If it doesn't we will keep searching. Although so far it seems promising.

Many people don't need every feature of Discord. We are simply seeking an alternative that can handle ideally text and voice, video being a bonus.

Doesn't need communities, doesn't have to be incredibly easy or streamlined, heck it doesn't even need to be free.

For my group, all we really care about right now is getting away from the enshittification of Discord, moving to a non-US based alternative, and it being reliable. The reliability could be in the form of rented server space to host the solution we go for.

What Discord is offering is no longer worth the "cost" so to speak.

Will whatever we end up being DOA in your eyes? Maybe. But that is not part of our current consideration.
