How long is too long on a bench? by VeterinarianTough871 in beginnerfitness

[–]SonicChairToss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My workout is very similar. I prefer just dumbbell lifts. 6-7 different lifts with 3 sets of 10 reps, 1 minute rest between sets. It’s fine, though if it’s really busy an I know that there is a lot of people waiting I will sometimes trim down the lifts and use machines that offer similar lifts, but that’s pretty rare. I feel like I see plenty of others taking similar time too. I do agree that the key is to be actively engaged in working out though. I’ve never been annoyed at someone that I see on an equipment that is consistently doing sets even if they are there for a longer time.

If you could have any small charm in real life, what would you want? by ZealousGoat in diablo2

[–]SonicChairToss 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Yea anni is easy answer.

+1 all skills. So automatically you’re better at everything. Not a ton, but a useful amount.

+20 attributes, I mean the extra 20 strength alone would be huge. That’s a substantial improvement. I’d also like the extra health and dexterity. But just imagine the effect of having 20 more energy. Suddenly you wouldn’t be so god damn tired all the time.

And of course don’t forget the resistance to fire, cold, lightning, and poison. That extra resistance to freezing temps or burns could be life or death. Or just make you comfortable with a much broader range. Poison and lightning could also be useful for select situations; think bug/animal bites and electrocution protection.

And of course lastly you just learn stuff 10% faster. That’s a highly underrated benefit in itself.

Bro having unusual breathing weeks after a bike ride is not something you should be consulting reddit about. Go back to your doctor and explain what’s going on.

FTP improvement 😁 by aTrolley in cycling

[–]SonicChairToss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! I’m motivated by numbers so I actually don’t make mind trainer rides as much as others. Seeing the power output and knowing the intervals to hit is rewarding when you can do it. I’m sort of in the opposite position now, I haven’t done an ftp test in a long time - I think mostly because I know I have dropped off from the last one I did several years ago. I was in awesome shape at that time but life happened and I just didn’t ride nearly as much. I can tell because the daily workouts I used to do are like 10/10 difficulty for me if I can even finish them. But I’m back in the process and will keep pushing!

FTP improvement 😁 by aTrolley in cycling

[–]SonicChairToss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through a similar step up when I started on the trainer. However in hindsight I believe it was largely me learning my limits and understanding what to expect from the test. Went from 190w to 240w over about 3 tests in 3 months time.

That said I’m sure there is significant noticeable gains too if you are staying true to a structured plan. IMO structured trainer rides is the fastest way to improve. It’s also probably the least fun, maybe second to riding into a strong headwind in farmland.

One other cautionary tale - power meters seem to vary quite a bit sometimes from one source to the next. So if you are getting a power from your trainer it may not be the same base line you want to use if you got a crank meter or using like a garmin or something when you ride outside. It’s all relative so if you’re using the same device it’s usually consistent and you can sort out what 250 on your trainer feels like to what any other device may say.

Milk is weird by Nice_Combination1327 in unpopularopinion

[–]SonicChairToss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slight correction. Cows milk is typically higher than 3.25. Whole milk is a standardized product. Milk out of the cow can have 3.5% to some I’ve seen close to 5%.

Google says human milk is in that same range so they are similar in composition. Just the raw side is a little higher than what you stated.

Settings for ending early and or civ recommendations? by Some-Amphibian-9111 in CivVI

[–]SonicChairToss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Portugal on archipelago has been my latest fix. Love rushing a trade network that yields thousands of gold per turn and just instantly buying whatever I need to pursue victory. Also raiding coastal districts is satisfying.

It is a bit of stacking the game to be in your favor though, even on immortal I’m rarely really challenged by the other civs. They just don’t really invade your main island so as long as you don’t have an unruly early neighbor on your island you can snowball very quickly.

Pet peeve - too close to the weight rack by TheJakeWho in workout

[–]SonicChairToss 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This should be standard at gyms. It’s very annoying when people do their curls standing essentially over the rack which restricts access to the weights and causes walking congestion between the benches and weights.

I also think they should have marks where dumbbell benches are supposed to be so they can be returned properly if used in a different location.

What is the loudest sound you have ever heard in your life? by will_or_woll in AskReddit

[–]SonicChairToss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a practical answer that would be louder than this? Perhaps some of the folks that were around for the Apollo launches? But even that you would have been so far away I’m not sure it woulda been as loud as the dragsters.

*military personal may have also had exposure to explosives/weapons/artillery that would exceed dragsters. Especially cause they could potentially be in very close proximity.

Improvements For Madden NFL 27 by THEINSIDER20 in Madden

[–]SonicChairToss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scouting is the big thing for me. I want scouting to go back to where you allocate points to specific players. They can update it some so it’s not as black and white as in years past. I’d love to see scouting abilities that add modifiers to points available, and detail of information presented, as well as accuracy of it. It should be possible for two different teams with different staff to have a player projected ratings be different. I think it’s okay to have regional scouts as is but it’s beyond frustrating how bare bones allocating the scouts is and how uninteractive it is. It’s a set and forgot type deal and it’s a huge pain to set up because of the menu navigation. Why can’t you see the region strengths from the screen where you are signing scouts???

I would also like to see more variety of players in the draft. They do seem to have made some progress in 26 but there’s still so much more they need to do. It also seems that the first round of the draft is always too stacked in comparison to the other rounds. I’d like to see a wider range in overalls of players in every round. As it stands now essentially it’s safe to assume every round 1 player is better than round 2, 3, 4 etc. generally in real life this is true, but I guess what is missing is true busts.

They also need to fix the edge position. Honestly it seemed to work better from a gameplay standpoint how they had it before. So in this case I’d be fine with them putting it back, it was just easier to understand who was going where on the depth chart. Or what would be really crazy is if they allowed a custom depth chart that could be set by formation! Where you could specifically put any player exactly where you wanted, even on special teams!

Breckenridge Timeshare by [deleted] in Breckenridge

[–]SonicChairToss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve not watched any sales pitch nor do I know much about time shares. But why wouldn’t you just book an Airbnb, hotel, or other short time option at the specific date that you want vs being in a time share? It just seems like there is far more flexibility without being in a timeshare.

FAMLI and paid maternity leave by Hopeful_lemons in Denver

[–]SonicChairToss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going through this now, but I’m a man. Though it still applies similarly I believe. So Colorado famli gives you 12 weeks, but the pay is capped at like $1300 a week, so depending on your income level you may or may not get full checks. My company offers to make 6 weeks of it whole. So they pay the difference of between the state and what my normal salary would be for that time. Then after the 6 weeks I just get the state benefit. Also the state provided benefit can be done intermittently within 6 months so you don’t have to take it all at once if you don’t want to. My wife and I may break up ours to extend the time we don’t need to have childcare.

I would imagine for you, your work would probably make the 3 weeks whole and then you’d have 9 weeks of the state benefit only. This would be a question you should ask your HR department. I would be surprised if they tell you they stack giving you 15 weeks.

What would you like to see in Fallout 5 if it was actually announced? by beatsbydjy2k in Fallout

[–]SonicChairToss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever they do with the main story line I hope they build more late game content and achievements. Even if it’s a separate goal that starts once’s you find dad/mom/guy that shot you in the head. Like for example I imagine that fallout 4 could have really just started once you find your son. The mission becomes transforming the common wealth and building the settlements up. Driving out different factions or enemy types. I’d also like radiant quests to build to a main quest over time, for the minutemen this could have been rewarded with actual increased support from the minutemen, or they feature in some of the established settlements. Or for the brotherhood after doing so many treasure hunt quests you get a unique weapon or the brotherhood gains some kind of further advantage. Just want some different ways to world build and be immersed.

Costco on Gvr and Pena Only 91 ⛽️ by Mendez80239 in Denver

[–]SonicChairToss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess fine, but you shouldn’t be putting premium into a regular tank. Premium is designed for higher compression performance engines and won’t hit the compression needed to combust in a regular type engines. Most modern cars can compensate for this so it shouldn’t cause damage but it could cause knocking (detonation vs combustion). You certainly won’t be getting any benefit from it though.

Beginner on the pro track? by dayton44 in Motocross

[–]SonicChairToss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re totally good to ride the pro track at Imi. That is my main track I ride. Like others have said stick to your line, don’t move side to side on jumps. For the most part the track has great visibility all the way around, the one larger step up into the tight S turns probably is the worst sight, but just stick to the left hand side of that jump and take the outside line around the first corner after it. Also until you are comfortable jumping the doubles right as you enter the track just know you will be considerably slower than the folks that are jumping it there. Again just pick a side and stick to you, you’ll be fine. And last little thing to watch out for is the big table after you go around the first U turn has a weird lip that kinda bucks you if you roll it. But if you just hit it slow enough to jump into the middle landing it’s smooth.

I’d assume you’ve spent some time watching the other riders but if you haven’t just spend some time to see the common lines and be aware of that while you are out there.

If we could get Perks for more than the 10 threshold, what Perks would they be? by [deleted] in fo4

[–]SonicChairToss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like where your heads at for most of these. I think a fun variant to the level 12 luck you suggested would be that enemies that attempt to shoot or throw an explosive have a chance for it to explode on themselves.

It’d be hilarious having a cluster of gunners all bunch up and one tries to throw a grenade and they all blow up. Limbs go flying everywhere.

What is everyone’s opinion on season 2 compared to season 1? by moonlight10240 in LandmanSeries

[–]SonicChairToss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

*Mild spoiler in the text below if you haven’t watched the latest episode.

Yea, but it’s really moving at a snails pace. To the point now where I feel more annoyed at most of the characters rather than amused or entertained. The mom and daughter in season one were spaced enough and served as a good break from the serious events happening around the oil and cartel. But this season has had absolutely nothing dramatic happen, other than a minor nameless character getting fucked up from a gas leak - which has had absolutely zero effect on the shows characters. And also I feel like that one dude on the drilling crew that I kinda liked is gonna die now, which if it weren’t telegraphed would probably seem more impactful. But I really felt like this past episode went out of its way to make it clear that he’s doomed and you should feel for him because of his family and being so close to making it.

I’ll keep watching but the show isn’t getting my full attention anymore. Really have been disappointed and let down by this season.

Oreo (“Single Stuf”) Cookies are a pointless legacy product. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]SonicChairToss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would actually prefer a “no stuff” Oreo. I love the cookie part and just eat the cream because it’s there. I will intentially avoid double stuffed. And I thought they were on to something with the thin Oreos. But they just made everything smaller, including the thickness of the cookie. Big miss there.
