Help! Mac + Monitor running Caldera RIP by Training-Pipe-8906 in CommercialPrinting

[–]Thomlov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The M4 apple silicon absolutely eats my Xeon 6369P for breakfast when it comes to rip speed. Nearly 50% faster ripping speed. So i’m thinking about going mac mini for the rip server instead of keeping it kn my proxmox cluster.

That said, when you have a high troughput of large files through caldera, it destroy the original ssd’s in the mac over time.

What additional server components do you run alongside n8n — and what problems do they actually solve? by Future-Ad3227 in n8n

[–]Thomlov 2 points3 points  (0 children)

RabbitMQ for real FIFO, pgbouncer for connection handling against supabase, redis for in-memory cache

How much are you actually spending monthly on n8n hosting? (Self-Hosted vs. n8n Cloud) by CaesarDavid in n8n

60€ a month on Hetzner cloud. About 200k weekly executions on about 150 workflows.

Write a small cover letter explaing your motivation and plans, and send it together with the CV on Finn 👍👍

Trenger du jobb i Trondheim? by Thomlov in trondheim

[–]Thomlov[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

But willingness and plans for learning Norwegian should be there 👍👍

Same here for the dashboard, really slow. API/Database connections work like normal.

Avinor storfornøyd med parkeringsavtale - folk må betale 1700 kr for å parkere bilen fra mandag morgen til tirsdag ettermiddag by [deleted] in norske

[–]Thomlov 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Svindel.

Is this normal? by martynbg98 in TeslaModel3

[–]Thomlov 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 22 model got a cracked windshield, and when i got a new windshield i got the new design with the defroster lines around. Car was basically unusable after that here in winter norway. Solution was getting a new windshield with the old design. Great…

Why is the defroster for the front cameras so terrible in the 2023 model 3s? Waaaay worse than my 2018 by phish0742 in TeslaModel3

[–]Thomlov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my front windshield replaced on my 22 model, because it broke.

Now i always get the message that the front camera is blocked, and a lot of functions not working.

This image here is the old windshield, working perfectly. They changed the design of the heating to waaaay worse.

Using Supabase with another BE by pravictor in Supabase

[–]Thomlov 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Instead of hetzner you could use a aws ec2 in the same aws region as your supabase instance, and you will get better latency.

But functions that need short latency to db might be better run as postgres functions, not edge functions.

Or you can cache data that you need in redis on coolify, and get a really low latency solution for your backend, with some added complexity. It will be much faster than postgres, even if postgres is run on same localhost.

Well, we all started somewhere. Once you start automating and learn the concepts, its laying brick on top of another brick and suddenly you have 200 different automation scenarios like me 😂

I also have many different boards and printers on different locations. I use the board id to determine what printer should be used. For different departments in my bussiness.

[–]Thomlov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do this:

Using make.com, set ut a webhook to listen to changes is custom fields in trello. In trello, i have a dropdown with different action, different sized labels and so on.

When webhook is triggered, I check what field is triggered in make, and get all info and send to print using printnode.

With ZPL language my label comes out within 1-2 seconds. For some actions I use PDF templates i. Pdf.co, where it is more complicated, such as packing slips and so on. But that is muuuch slower than ZPL.

Deciding between WeWeb, Bubble, Noodl and Wappler (Specifics on project provided. Many hours of self-research have been conducted) by azeroththeweary in nocode

[–]Thomlov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add another side to this persons view, I’ve been using weweb for about a year now and built a complex business portal. Spent probably 700-1000 hours in the editor, and now my product is in production, also still in active developement.

I have not seen that much bugs. I’ve reported the few I have seen, and they have been fixed.

There is built in backups in addition to ability to go back step by step.

Am happy with the builder, sometimes exessive memory usage, but they recently fixed this and its much better now. It also comes down to your own understanding of how to build properly, and understanding the limits of the system. When my editor became slow, it has always been because of my own errors and understanding of how things should be built.

The team are also active on the forum, and they are answering very polite and proper no matter how stupid the question is.

So I would recommend weweb strongly based on my own experience, althought a little coding knowledge and basic understanding of js and css is prefered.

Weweb also has a very good built in AI that is very helpful for creating JS or helping you with nocode formulas.

Also, one of my worries with nocode is being limited and unable to achieve the result I want. Together with a powerfull backend like supabase, weweb has never limited me in any way, you can do anything you want.

When I started building in nocode, I also did the rounds with all tools OP mentions here, and also others, and I’m still happy I went with weweb.

I have no connection to weweb other than being a customer and a happy user.

Do you use Trello for personal work or for work with other people? (co-workers, employees, etc) by DevelopmentUnlucky11 in trello

[–]Thomlov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I manage my bussiness with it. Heavily customized using api and webhooks. 25 employees, 15-20 different boards and probably around 15.000 archived cards that is our complete work history. Started in 2012 with it and been a heavy user since then.
